We are all like snowflakes drifting in the wind....some of us are more unique on the surface, but we're all the same deep within!

The Universe and World around us are one half of what shapes our outer selves while the force of goodness deep within us reacts to these external forces; and it is the meeting of these two forces that give us our unique outer shells!

Our Souls desire to be at One with All that is Truly Loving, Kind, Understanding and Accepting...for our Souls are of the same Eternal Source as the Souls of all Creatures big and small; but our Living Bodies and the World upon which they depend is Imperfect and presents ever-changing situations: some which are Challenging Opportunities to Grow and become Enlightened to the Eternal Truths that our Souls knew countless times before...and had to forget to be able to be reborn again and gaze in awe at IT ALL!...and some which are Unpleasant Obstacles and potentially Lethal Threats! It is the truly Wise Person who understands all this without having to rely on pre-existing Dogma and Ideologies!

Your particular desire to be able to Impact upon the World...in the hope that you might make it better, for yourself and others, and in the need to feel some legitimate sense of Empowerment in a World that is too often ruled by people whose false sense of Power is gained at the expense of countless Other People...they are those whose false sense of power comes from denying others their own right to Self-Empowerment...and yet your desire to be Unseen and Anonymous is due to your upbringing and your inklings as to the nature of H'SH'M. For if We are truly created in H'SH'M's Spiritual "IMAGE" ( actually the right word is "LIGHT" ) then it is only natural that We should seek to be at ONE with H'SH'M by Being As Much Alike to H'SH'M as We can possibly be!

Alas; this Life-long Quest for Greater Oneness and Acceptance, i.e. LOVE, must Truly Begin with Accepting the LOVE that is Already Being Shared! And even the most Lonely, Wretched of Us can Accept the LOVE of H'SH'M.

The Fear and Anxiety that We may feel, some of Us sometimes Too Often so; is the Fear and Anxiety of being Rejected and Un-Loved! And it is this Fear and Anxiety that wrecks havoc on Our Lives; on our Brains and Bodies and the People around Us!

To rid Ourselves of this Fear and Anxiety We must Truly allow Others to share our LOVE, vice versa! And Acts of Genuine Kindness, both Material and Spiritual, are The Only Way to Self-Empowerment, to the Real Power; the Power of the Force of LOVE that, IF WE ALL WOULD GENUINELY SEEK AND ACCEPT IT, would bring about World Peace, Health and Sustainable Prosperity!

Blessed are Those of my friends who accept me in my imperfection! Cursed by their own negativity (no need for me to curse them: for it is neither my right nor my will to do so) are those who reject the Real Me on account of: 1. Who I am not able to be. 2. Who I would never want to be. 3. Who I may YET be able to be! For it is by Being True to our Innermost Self that We can ever be FREE! And without True FREEDOM, i.e. Inner Freedom, Outer Social Freedom is impossible! To be FREE to BE YOUR TRUE SELF does not come from Imposing the Force of Your Own Insecurities on Others! The INCREDULITY FACTOR and FASCISM

The problem with society-in-general is what I would call THE INCREDULITY FACTOR ! Here's what I mean: when enough of the majority of the people of any given society arrive at a point where they forget how Fascism creeped into place the last time then people start to assume that Fascism could not happen again because...well...the horrific things it causes TAUGHT US TO BEWARE OF FASCISTS and "SOMEONE", among those in positions of Authority, is working to PREVENT FASCISM's RESURGENCE! Well; that's a serious problem! Because the best environment in which Fascism can easily begin to take place is one in which almost everyone thinks that it is impossible! They will even Ridicule and sometimes even Neglect or Attack anyone who tries to Blow A Whistle and Warn them! And that's what I mean!

One of the methods Fascists use is to CLAIM TO BE THEMSELVES THE VERY OPPOSITE! That they are the True Anti-Fascists and that the LIBERALS are the REAL FASCISTS! This was done, albeit in a somewhat different fashion, in both Italy and Germany, at the time Fascism began to creep up! Prior to that period the term Fascist was not used in reference to Authoritarian Dictatorships that came either in the form of Monarchies or in the form of Robespierre and The Jacobins, who held a Reign of Terror on Paris at during the French Revolutionary period! Robespierre was, in a sense, a Fascist! As were the Ancient Greek Spartans! Fascism is defined by both Nationalist Militarism and Autocratic Rule or even partial-Autocracy! Invariably it tends to disintegrate into total terror, because at the very core of almost everyone is the desire to be Free and to have Inalienable Rights!
Fascism disintegrates and turns into outright terror because people start to yearn for their own personal Freedom, Liberties and Rights and will begin to Resist, to Oppose Fascism...which the leader and their Ruling Class will do anything to suppress...and this eventually is why it disintegrates into a terror. Also; in any Fascist society there is always some competition for the Mantle of Power at the top level; and the constant fear of one's fellow Fascists causes Paranoia and outright violent conflict among the ranks! Hence Fascism is something we must always strive to prevent! BUT TO DO SO EFFECTIVELY means heeding the Warnings and Advice of a Relatively Democratic society's Non-Violent, Non-Conflict-Profiteering, Non-Conformists! The Self-Educated Geniuses who fully understand what are the root causes of Poverty, Strife and Violence.

It can be said that Fascism, made up of One Group of Criminal Thugs headed by a Charismatic Leader, comes into power to Bring A Violent End to any Terror of Outright Chaotic Anarchy caused by other groups of criminal thugs and then proceeds to Rule by Subtle forms of Terror, calculated to Intimidate The Masses into Passive Submission, and then it begins to Disintegrate into Very Obvious Constant Terror and ends up being Overthrown by people who seek to bring about a True Democracy. But the problem is that OVER TIME the Masses begin to Forget HOW FASCISM, like a Toxic Parasitic Fungus, begins to take hold and spread and eventually takes over! The Problem in our times: Violent Overthrow of Fascism is less and less possible and formation of True Democracies is also less likely!

HENCE we have an increasing number of Plutocracies that deliberately create Idiocracies for the Masses! And Plutocracies are, in a sense, nothing but another form of Fascism; except that the Ruling Gang of Thugs and Their Criminal Overlord are High Class Criminals who can afford to use even more Subtle methods of Intimidation and, if need be, Deliberate Disenfranchisement of any who would seek to bring about True Democracy, i.e. Social Democracy!

UNFORTUNATELY many of today's youths sense that things are not as they are mean to appear and that things are not going well, but this growing social paranoia, resulting from actual threats, leads to such levels of insecurity and frustration that they begin to grab desperately for anything and anyone that seems to provide an answer! And there many dangerously charismatic fools out there who know how to use Anarchist Rhetoric and Propaganda to attract these youths and mislead them into a dangerous, viscous cycle of conflict with those who work in Law Enforcement. This then creates a dangerous cycle of senseless conflict between to forces comprised of Adrenaline-addicted fools and Adrenaline-addicted enforcers who usually tend not to see what is really going on!

Meanwhile there are entities Way Up The Food Chain who profit from conflict, and who are forced by one another to continue doing so!

People can be so Selfish-Minded! WHEN it happens to them or their loved ones they, rightly so, want psychotic fanatic murderers to be brought to Justice, when/if possible. Clearly OBL was exactly the kind of psychopath who our Navy Seals and Special Forces had justified reason to fear might press a button and detonate something. There are those who would rather believe the False Conspiracy Theorists who want people to believe that there is no Al-Qaeda, or any other similar terrorist groups, seeking to harm US! But it is interesting to note that most of these particular doubters, skeptics and deniers did not lose a loved-one or manage to survive such cowardly and totally unjustified attack. It's similar to how people who have never been homeless tend to assume that anyone who is homeless is somehow a lazy bum and/or mentally ill person, rather than someone who has been the target of sick people who know how to use the new technologies and entities (e.g. Internet Databases, tracking systems and Private Mercenary-type Background Security Check companies, etc.) to totally disenfranchise anyone who any wealthy person or group with serious power, money and influence can target (mostly for political purposes)! Most people fail to see the World in a Psychologically Self-Aware manner and thus fail to have empathy and feel solidarity with victims of both Criminal Thugs and Criminal Thugs who happen to be Psychotic Fanatics! OBL not only declared war on US, but he actually ordered, hence 'caused', the mass murder of thousands of wonderful, innocent people on 9-11, and many others elsewhere. OBL and ASSociates murdered thousands more of those he claimed to be the champion of! And OBL and ASSociates indirectly caused the death of hundreds of millions of poor people throughout the World; consequence of the Severe Global Economic Instability that followed the 9-11 attacks! True: there are sick, selfish, Conflict-Profiteering individuals and groups who exploit these horrific attacks on US and our loved-ones! And they too are a major threat to our relatively Wise, Liberal, Democratic Civilisation! Just because there are those in our midst who allowed these psychotic fanatics to murder US does not mean that they had to create them directly! OBL and ASSociates are not entitled to the kind of legal protections we must afford non-combatants; for they were combatants! OBL was their psychotic fanatic Commander and those who are/were brainwashed by him need to be denied the means, ability and opportunity to cause US further harm! Most of the World's Muslims are against OBL and the horrific things he and his ASSociates cause(d). Those who seek to make the War Against Terrorists into a perpetual pseudo-War On Terror ("War On Terror" is an illogical term: one cannot win a war on sick attitudes that may always reappear...we can only win The War on Terrorists)...anyway...those who seek to make this a permanent war are only able to do so by falsely pointing the finger of blame on true Muslims...people who know that terrorism is forbidden! Of course; many ask: then why are most terrorist acts done by people from within Muslim societies?? It is a fair question. But the answer is not what one would expect! The answer is this: Muslim societies did not have the same lengthy period of time to evolve and progress the way predominantly Christian and Jewish societies have! First of all; Islam arose almost 500 years after the rise of the faith created by John The Baptist and almost 1800 years after MOSES was Inspired by H'SH'M (G-D) to bring US The TORAH (Ten Commandments)! Secondly: there actually was a Golden Era of mixed Islamic-Jewish Science and Intellectual Progress in some parts of the then Islamic World; especially in Moorish Spain, Egypt and a few other places, BUT this Golden Era...at a time when Europe was in the Dark Ages...was destroyed and the Islamic World, for the most part, was set backwards by the Crusades! Thirdly: the Arab Islamic tribes, until the post-World War Two Era, were set back by Imperial Colonial European powers, and this itself helped create this dangerous and psychotic extreme anti-Europeanism! And finally: the Justified Need to provide us Jews a safe-haven secular homeland (Israel), following the horrors of The Holocaust and Ages of Horrific, Totally Unjustified, Brutality of Pogroms and other Murderous, Genocidal Anti-Semitic attacks in Europe, Czarist Russia and elsewhere, was exploited by Nazi-Infiltrated Pan-Arabist Ultra-Nationalists (Baathists, Nasserists, etc.) and other anti-Jewish extremists, thus creating a very un-Islamic (i.e. contradictory, in terms of the very Teachings/Edicts of Islam) attitude within Arab and non-Arab Muslims! Such that Muslim societies have only had a few decades to begin to become healthily introspective and self-critical! Unfortunately what OBL and ASSociates have done has contributed to a severe split within most Muslim societies; for which the rest of the World also is paying a very high price!
So: to those doubters, skeptics and deniers who think Al-Qaeda is simply a fabrication created to distract us and allow thugs from within our own societies to trample upon our Constitutional Rights, Freedoms and Liberties I say this: 1. These psychotic fanatic murderers are very real, are seeking to create a pseudo-Islamic Global Caliphate by means of barbaric forms of violence, and are very much of their own making! 2. There are Conflict-Profiteers in all societies who seek to exploit these attacks...who deliberately weaken our ability to protect ourselves from these psychotic fanatic murderers. 3. Your unrealistic attitude about these things actually helps to further harm both our Socio-Economic Interests/Welfare and our Socio-Psychological Welfare, i.e. our remaining Freedoms, Liberties and Individual Rights! IN ORDER TO DEFEAT Al-Qaeda and other similarly psychotic fanatic murderers WE MUST DO ALL THREE THINGS: 1. Restore All Our G-D-given Individual Human Rights, Freedoms and Liberties, 2. Help Encourage and Strengthen those, the silent majority of truly Moderate Muslims, i.e. Real Muslims, who have, until now, lived in perpetual fear; afraid of both the kookoos in their own midst (i.e. these Psychotic Fanatic Murderers) and of those Conflict-Profiteers in our midst who seek to Perpetuate War Forever (for Profit), and 3. Have our best trained Special Forces and the forces of Moderates locate and, if possible, capture and bring to face Public Court Trials, or, if not possible, cut off the snakeheads of these groups that use clever brainwashing techniques on bored, un-imaginative, weak-minded, susceptible youths!

I CONDEMN IN THE STRONGEST TERMS POSSIBLE THESE BARBARIC AND TOTALLY UNJUSTIFIED ATTACKS ON EGYPTIAN COPTS AND THEIR EGYPTIAN COPTIC CHURCHES! EGYPTS COPTIC COMMUNITY ARE DESCENDANTS OF MOSEAN JEWS AND AS SUCH THEY HOLD IN THEIR TRADITIONS MANY PRICELESS VALUES!

Also: is our government, and every other major government on Earth, infiltrated by actual Nazis and other anti-Semitic Fascists who harm the reputation and interests of the majority of wonderful and decent Federal officers and officials who truly abide by Our Great Constitution? Could that be the reason we, the working poor and working middle-classes, have to suffer from all manner of criminal thugs and psychotic fanatics??

IF we leave...entirely...(I support the withdrawal, pending actual conditions, of most of our troops)...then we will leave the region open to being taken over by the forces of other powers; who have their own competing interests against ours! The World Is A Mess and Unilateral Acts, however Well-Intended in Appearance, can have Very Negative Consequences that can easily force US into even worse conflict! What we need is truly Wise and Super-Intelligent people, of a High Ethics, to Restore Sanity and Security to Our World! As Albert Einstein put it: "One cannot solve problems at the same level of intellect that caused/created them in the first place!" Where are the World's True Geniuses?

How The Mass News Media Inadvertently Endangers Everyone

Before I get into the thick of what this particular Blog post is about I should like to point out a few things about me, things that should rid anyone of any doubt about whether or not I am qualified to write this particular piece.

Back in the 80s and 90s I worked, on and off, as a Journalist, both Freelance and with various newspapers and a couple of radio stations here and there. The most prominent ones included The Jordan Times; which was at the time The Official English Language Daily of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and which, for the most part, reflected the political views acceptable to His Late Majesty King Hussein of Jordan (father of the current Jordanian Monarch), and I did some work for Radio Budapest, the English Language Short-Wave Radio broadcast of the Hungarian government, during the so-called Socialist (Warsaw-Pact) period. I had apprenticed years earlier (before my work at Radio Budapest and The J.T.) in New York City, at a few modestly-sized local and regional publications and managed to get myself on TV News a few times, especially during the two years that my rise to fame seemed almost assured. In addition to that, I have worked with a few politicians, campaigning, and political leaders. Aside from all that; I have personally known a few people who are in the thick of the National (US) and International Mass News Media, especially during the time I had my own small NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) in Washington, DC...which also happens to be the place of my birth. So there should be no doubt that I am fairly well-acquainted with what really goes on and how it impacts upon the World and our everyday lives!

And now I will get on to what I want to say about how the Mass News Media inadvertently endangers the World (hence 'everyone').

First things first; let me qualify what I am about to say by stating the following: I am not the kind of superficial person who falls prey to those who spread dangerously false conspiracy theories and/or who wish to promote the worldview that the rich and powerful are all part of some grand, most sinister effort to enslave the majority of the masses and to wipe out any and all who would dare resist. I think such views are not based on an actual understanding of reality and how things work in the world, and I think that the world is much more complex than even most of those who also understand that it is a complex and somewhat chaotic reality, and that it is much more about an unpredictable set of conflicts than any actual conspiracies, all of which are the result of many competing interests, think it is! Even this last sentence is way too complex for most people to easily understand what I am trying to convey here. To put it as succinctly as I can: the World is neither as Conspiracy-driven as most so-called Conspiracy Theorists and Conspiracy Addicts think it is, nor as simple as too many highly educated, but poorly informed, Professional Academics think it is! In a nutshell: the World is a mess and we're fast heading for even worse trouble! But I do think that such utter chaos, and its horrific consequences, can be averted and that there is some hope that we will eventually get out of this Strobe-Light Chaotic Era, that is too chaotic to call a New Dark Ages...even if it does share some of the horrors of the Dark Ages itself.

The General Problem
(if you are someone well-informed about the Mass News Media; then you will know these things)

The supposed role of the Mass News Media is to properly inform the general public about what is actually happening in our World so that people can make informed decisions about how they conduct their affairs, including their personal lives, their business or work-related situations and how they vote and/or seek to influence their elected representatives. At least that is the role that the Mass News Media should play, regardless of whether it is otherwise run as part of a commercial, for-profit, interest or as a supposedly more-objective public, not-for-profit, interest. And for a healthy Democracy to exist...for a Democracy to exist and continue to exist at all...it is vitally important that the Mass News Media avoid inadvertently becoming such a factor in the equation that it, in the end, begins to be a major catalyst in creating major situations by having manipulated the public's perception of 'reality' to the point that the public is actually misinformed, be that deliberately so or unintentionally, and then makes a terribly dangerous mix of decisions, some of which will surely be harmful to society and to global economic stability and security! After all; if people get information that is almost entirely false or even just partly false then they will tend to act upon such information, and there will even be a significant but growing minority that will distrust almost all sources of information and begin to formulate their own theories, which will tend to be dangerous to the overall interests of society and the world! In a sense, news reporting is no different than scientific observation: the very technology and/or method of observation can alter what it is we are trying to observe, and worse yet; the Editorial policies of those who control what ultimately ends up being communicated to the general public is too often tainted by the manner in which, directly or indirectly, the Publisher and the Advertisers, i.e. the Corporate Interests, put pressure on the Editors or simply manage to manipulate the attitude of the Editors, etc. BUT this is not what I am ultimately getting at; it is simply to help you understand just how things work in the Mass News Media world (for people like Fareed Zakaria this will be elementary knowledge and rather boring). The bottom line: since every individual person, Reporters and Editors alike, come with their own set of biases, i.e. lack of actual, total objectivity, and since a major bias comes into play when one's income (wages/money) is at stake, chances are that even the least biased and most objective Mass News Media entity (news company, -paper, TV, magazine, etc.) will not be able to provide us enough of the actual story so that we can then act properly upon it. But even as things are never as simple as we might like them to be, and there are many shades of grey, there are some Journalists/Reporters and Editors who truly seek to take all these things into consideration and make the very best effort to provide us with as accurate a picture of things as possible!

The Specific Problem

One of the worst things that has happened to our Mass New Media in general, especially in the latter half of the 20th Century and going on into this 21st Century, is that when it seeks so-called expert opinions, such as when it seeks to review the day's or week's news, it tends to be too narrowly dependent on what it, and society in general, assume are the opinions of those who would seem to be the most qualified to 'help us' formulate a much better understanding of what is going on in the World, and why it is going on, and what is likely to happen next! That is to say; the Mass News Media has become, like the rest of society's decision-making bodies and institutions, over-reliant on a limited set of perspectives, much to the detriment of society's overall interests as a whole! For example; on Fareed Zakaria's GPS on CNN the panel of experts tends to be a mix of formally accredited Professional Academics (in the relevant fields concerned) and recognised political figures whose past experience would seem to make them more likely to be qualified to give us meaningful, additional insight. And, of course, some of the panel members, may not be the best minds on the topic concerned, but at least they have some degree of celebrity status and popular appeal, which helps boost the news show's (news program's) ratings! But this tendency is very dangerous, I dare say! Because not only does it leave out the voices of those who are the most obviously unsettling...and let us put aside the issue of whether or not one can have a meaningful news-review show with such dissonant voices present....but it even fails to invite the voices (alternative viewpoints) of those who have somehow managed to become sufficiently erudite and well-informed, who can read-between-the-lines, but who are also not as biased as those who currently tend to make up these panels, because they are not owned by anyone or any entity, commercial, political or otherwise, but who are actually voices which, as of lately, almost never get heard! Mind you, I am not talking about so-called Alternative Thinkers like Deepak Chopra, Anthony Robbins and Michael Moore; for they are very much biased by their massive commercial successes and by the fact that they did not have the kind of unusual lives that culminate from having been able to actually live at various levels of society, both socio-economically and intellectually! It is my sincere opinion that while it is truly wise of the Mass News Media to avoid regularly pandering or catering to people like Alex Jones, David Icke and Ron Paul, it is harmful and dangerous that the Mass News Media does not open itself to those Auto-didactic types who, by mere evidence of anything that they can put down on paper (articles they write) demonstrate that they are clearly capable of formulating Well-Reasoned Opinions and offering very practical/useful alternative insight, yet who have, for some reason or another, been constantly ignored by the book publisher's and by the Mass News Media simply because they are not Formally Accredited Professional Academics, Experts and/or Experienced Politicians and Decision-makers! But, you may ask, WHY? Why exactly does the general public need to hear the Alternative Opinions, Perspectives, Insight of those rare few types of people who somehow have both a broad and yet somewhat deep view of what is actually going on in the World?!? Simple; because it is such unusual voices that tend to have in past History helped make the World a much better place. In days of old it was people like Baruch Spinoza, Giordano Bruno, Nikola Tesla, etc., whose unusual personalities, hence perspectives, stimulated the minds, views and decisions of less unusual yet vastly more influential persons! And it is this very absence of such alternative yet sensible voices that contributes to a dangerous assumption that the only voices worth hearing from are those who have managed to acquire such formal accreditation and who are hence considered well-vetted by those who would and should be concerned about preventing superficially-minded yet charismatic hate-and-fear-mongering false Individualists from having easy access to the general public. After all; anyone who seeks to Lead others in an un-Democratic way is, ipso-facto, not a true Individualist; for they are willing to deny all others the power of the public's attention and thus their very worldview is not worthy of those who seek to strengthen the overall welfare and better interests of society and the World! In other words; what I am saying...implying...is also that it is no wonder that in the absence of such voices as my very own, for anyone who takes the trouble/effort to examine my particulars can easily ascertain whether or not I am a prime example of such a rare alternative voice,....in the absence of such refreshingly alternative voices, the voices of Autodidactic Individualists, it is no wonder that more and more people are beginning to lose their ability to trust the Mass News Media, and are beginning to perceive the Mass News Media as nothing more than clever efforts by Corporate Elites and their crony political stooges to deliberately misinform and manipulate the general public! When policies do not reflect the true will of the people, when Democracies are Democracies only in name, and have begun to turn, more and more so, into Plutocracies, which we all know are tantamount to Corporate Fascist systems, where Profits matter more than People and more than the Quality of Life itself, then we know, from previous Historical evidence, that in such a dishonest, distrustful and destructive environment paranoia begins to grow in leaps and bounds and eventually such systems themselves begin to falter and fall and in their place greater chaos and worse horrors follow, and eventually another set of false heroes comes forth to save the day, only to turn out to be even more ruthless anti-Democratic dictators! Except that in our current World Situation (global set of circumstances), what with all the unimaginably dangerous technologies that already exist, both known and unknown to the general public,....except that this time we are more likely to see the Total Collapse of Civilisation the World-over, IF we continue going this way! And IF there is any real hope at all, then it must come not from the dangerous agenda-driven, demagogue minds of dangerous people like Alex Jones, but from the next generation of Spinozas, of Sensible pro-Moderate Democratic Thinkers, of Autodidactic Individualists who will almost always tend to be Real Philosophers (not Professors of Philosophy), and who will definitely be champions of promoting a much greater and deeper understanding of the indispensable importance of Real Ethics in Science, Technology, Society, Politics and the Private Sector!

ON THE POWER OF THE UNDERSTANDING, OR OF HUMAN FREEDOM.

PREFACE.

AT length I pass to the remaining portion of my Ethics, which is concerned with the way leading to freedom. I shall therefore treat therein of the power of the reason, showing how far the reason can control the emotions, and what is the nature of Mental Freedom or Blessedness; we shall then be able to see, how much more powerful the wise man is than the ignorant. It is no part of my design to point out the method and means whereby the understanding may be perfected, nor to show the skill whereby the body may be so tended, as to be capable of the due performance of its functions. The latter question lies in the province of Medicine, the former in the province of Logic. Here, therefore, I repeat, I shall treat only of the power of the mind, or of reason; and I shall mainly show the extent and nature of its dominion over the emotions, for their control and moderation. That we do not possess absolute dominion over them, I have already shown. Yet the Stoics have thought, that the emotions depended absolutely on our will, and that we could absolutely govern them. But these philosophers were compelled, by the protest of experience, not from their own principles, to confess, that no slight practice and zeal is needed to control and moderate them: and this someone endeavoured to illustrate by the example (if I remember rightly) of two dogs, the one a house-dog and the other a hunting-dog. For by long training it could be brought about, that the house-dog should become accustomed to hunt, and the hunting-dog to cease from running after hares. To this opinion Descartes not a little inclines. For he maintained, that the soul or mind is specially united to a particular part of the brain, namely, to that part called the pineal gland, by the aid of which the mind is enabled to feel all the movements which are set going in the body, and also external objects, and which the mind by a simple act of volition can put in motion in various ways. He asserted, that this gland is so suspended in the midst of the brain, that it could be moved by the slightest motion of the animal spirits: further, that this gland is suspended in the midst of the brain in as many different manners, as the animal spirits can impinge thereon; and, again, that as many different marks are impressed on the said gland, as there are different external objects which impel the animal spirits towards it; whence it follows, that if the will of the soul suspends the gland in a position, wherein it has already been suspended once before by the animal spirits driven in one way or another, the gland in its turn reacts on the said spirits, driving and determining them to the condition wherein they were, when repulsed before by a similar position of the gland. He further asserted, that every act of mental volition is united in nature to a certain given motion of the gland. For instance, whenever anyone desires to look at a remote object, the act of volition causes the pupil of the eye to dilate, whereas, if the person in question had only thought of the dilatation of the pupil, the mere wish to dilate it would not have brought about the result, inasmuch as the motion of the gland, which serves to impel the animal spirits towards the optic nerve in a way which would dilate or contract the pupil, is not associated in nature with the wish to dilate or contract the pupil, but with the wish to look at remote or very near objects. Lastly, he maintained that, although every motion of the aforesaid gland seems to have been united by nature to one particular thought out of the whole number of our thoughts from the very beginning of our life, yet it can nevertheless become through habituation associated with other thoughts; this he endeavours to prove in the Passions del l'âme, I. 50. He thence concludes, that there is no soul so weak, that it cannot, under proper direction, acquire absolute power over its passions. For passions as defined by him are "perceptions, or feelings, or disturbances of the soul, which are referred to the soul as species, and which (mark the expression) are produced, preserved, and strengthened through some movement of the spirits." (Passions del l'âme, I. 27.) But, seeing that we can join any motion of the gland, or consequently of the spirits, to any volition, the determination of the will depends entirely on our own powers; if, therefore, we determine our will with sure and firm decisions in the direction to which we wish our actions to tend, and associate the motions of the passions which we wish to acquire with the said decisions, we shall acquire an absolute dominion over our passions.Such is the doctrine of this illustrious philosopher (in so far as I gather it from his own words); it is one which, had it been less ingenious, I could hardly believe to have proceeded from so great a man. Indeed, I am lost in wonder, that a philosopher, who had stoutly asserted, that he would draw no conclusions which do not follow from self-evident premisses, and would affirm nothing which he did not clearly and distinctly perceive, and who had so often taken to task the scholastics for wishing to explain obscurities through occult qualities, could maintain a hypothesis, beside which occult qualities are commonplace. What does he understand, I ask, by the union of the mind and the body? What clear and distinct conception has he got of thought in most intimate union with a certain particle of extended matter? Truly I should like him to explain this union through its proximate cause. What clear and distinct conception has he got of thought in most intimate union with a certain particle of extended matter? Further, I should much like to know, what degree of motion the mind can impart to this pineal gland, and with what force can it hold it suspended? For I am in ignorance, whether this gland can be agitated more slowly or more quickly by the mind than by the animal spirits, and whether the motions of the passions, which we have closely united with firm decisions, cannot be again disjoined therefrom by physical causes; in which case it would follow that, although the mind firmly intended to face a given danger, and had united to this decision the motions of boldness, yet at the sight of the danger the gland might become suspended in a way, which would preclude the mind thinking of anything except running away. In truth, as there is no common standard of volition and motion, so is there no comparison possible between the powers of the mind and the power or strength of the body; consequently the strength of one cannot in any wise be determined by the strength of the other. We may also add, that there is no gland discoverable in the midst of the brain, so placed that it can thus easily be set in motion in so many ways, and also that all the nerves are not prolonged so far as the cavities of the brain. Lastly, I omit all the assertions which he makes concerning the will and its freedom, inasmuch as I have abundantly proved that his premisses are false. Therefore, since the power of the mind, as I have shown above, is defined by the understanding only, we shall determine solely by the knowledge of the mind the remedies against the emotions, which I believe all have had experience of, but do not accurately observe or distinctly see, and from the same basis we shall deduce all those conclusions, which have regard to the mind's blessedness.
AXIOMS.

I. If two contrary actions be started in the same subject, a change must necessarily take place, either in both, or in one of the two, and continue until they cease to be contrary.

II. The power of an effect is defined by the power of its cause, in so far as its essence is explained or defined by the essence of its cause.
(This axiom is evident from III. vii.)

PROPOSITIONS.

PROP. I. Even as thoughts and the ideas of things are arranged and associated in the mind, so are the modifications of body or the images of things precisely in the same way arranged and associated in the body.

Proof.--The order and connection of ideas is the same (II. vii.) as the order and connection of things, and vice versa the order and connection of things is the same (II. vi. Coroll. and II. vii.) as the order and connection of ideas. Wherefore, even as the order and connection of ideas in the mind takes place according to the order and association of modifications of the body (II. xviii.), so vice versa (III. ii.) the order and connection of modifications of the body takes place in accordance with the manner, in which thoughts and the ideas of things are arranged and associated in the mind. Q.E.D.

Proof.--That, which constitutes the reality of love or hatred, is pleasure or pain, accompanied by the idea of an external cause (Def. of the Emotions, vi. vii.); wherefore, when this cause is removed, the reality of love or hatred is removed with it; therefore these emotions and those which arise therefrom are destroyed. Q.E.D.

PROP. III. An emotion, which is a passion, ceases to be a passion, as soon as we form a clear and distinct idea thereof.
Proof.--An emotion, which is a passion, is a confused idea (by the general Def. of the Emotions). If, therefore, we form a clear and distinct idea of a given emotion, that idea will only be distinguished from the emotion, in so far as it is referred to the mind only, by reason (II. xxi. and note); therefore (III. iii.), the emotion will cease to be a passion. Q.E.D.
Corollary.--An emotion therefore becomes more under our control, and the mind is less passive in respect to it, in proportion as it is more known to us.

PROP. IV. There is no modification of the body, whereof we cannot form some clear and distinct conception.
Proof.--Properties which are common to all things can only be conceived adequately (II. xxxviii.); therefore (II. xii. and Lemma ii after II. xiii.) there is no modification of the body, whereof we cannot form some clear and distinct conception. Q.E.D.
Corollary.--Hence it follows that there is no emotion, whereof we cannot form some clear and distinct conception. For an emotion is the idea of a modification of the body (by the general Def. of the Emotions), and must therefore (by the preceding Prop.) involve some clear and distinct conception.

Note.--Seeing that there is nothing which is not followed by an effect (I. xxxvi.), and that we clearly and distinctly understand whatever follows from an idea, which in us is adequate (II. xl.), it follows that everyone has the power of clearly and distinctly understanding himself and his emotions, if not absolutely, at any rate in part, and consequently of bringing it about, that he should become less subject to them. To attain this result, therefore, we must chiefly direct our efforts to acquiring, as far as possible, a clear and distinct knowledge of every emotion, in order that the mind may thus, through emotion, be determined to think of those things which it clearly and distinctly perceives, and wherein it fully acquiesces: and thus that the emotion itself may be separated from the thought of an external cause, and may be associated with true thoughts; whence it will come to pass, not only that love, hatred, &c. will be destroyed (V. ii.), but also that the appetites or desires, which are wont to arise from such emotion, will become incapable of being excessive (IV. lxi.). For it must be especially remarked, that the appetite through which a man is said to be active, and that through which he is said to be passive is one and the same. For instance, we have shown that human nature is so constituted, that everyone desires his fellow-men to live after his own fashion (III. xxxi. note); in a man, who is not guided by reason, this appetite is a passion which is called ambition, and does not greatly differ from pride; whereas in a man, who lives by the dictates of reason, it is an activity or virtue which is called piety (IV. xxxvii note i. and second proof). In like manner all appetites or desires are only passions, in so far as they spring from inadequate ideas; the same results are accredited to virtue, when they are aroused or generated by adequate ideas. For all desires, whereby we are determined to any given action, may arise as much from adequate as from inadequate ideas (IV. lix.). Than this remedy for the emotions (to return to the point from which I started), which consists in a true knowledge thereof, nothing more excellent, being within our power, can be devised. For the mind has no other power save that of thinking and of forming, adequate ideas, as we have shown above (III. iii.).

PROP. V. An emotion towards a thing, which we conceive simply, and not as necessary, or as contingent, or as possible, is, other conditions being equal, greater than any other emotion.
Proof.--An emotion towards a thing, which we conceive to be free, is greater than one towards what we conceive to be necessary (III. xlix.), and, consequently, still greater than one towards what we conceive as possible, or contingent (IV. xi.). But to conceive a thing as free can be nothing else than to conceive it simply, while we are in ignorance of the causes whereby it has been determined to action (II. xxxv. note); therefore, an emotion towards a thing which we conceive simply is, other conditions being equal, greater than one, which we feel towards what is necessary, possible, or contingent, and, consequently, it is the greatest of all Q.E.D.

PROP. VI. The mind has greater power over the emotions and is less subject thereto, in so far as it understands all things as necessary.
Proof.--The mind understands all things to be necessary (I. xxix.) and to be determined to existence and operation by an infinite chain of causes; therefore (by the foregoing Proposition), it thus far brings it about, that it is less subject to the emotions arising therefrom, and (III. xlviii.) feels less emotion towards the things themselves. Q.E.D.
Note.--The more this knowledge, that things are necessary, is applied to particular things, which we conceive more distinctly and vividly, the greater is the power of the mind over the emotions, as experience also testifies. For we see, that the pain arising from the loss of any good is mitigated, as soon as the man who has lost it perceives, that it could not by any means have been preserved. So also we see that no one pities an infant, because it cannot speak, walk, or reason, or lastly, because it passes so many years, as it were, in unconsciousness. Whereas, if most people were born full-grown and only one here and there as an infant, everyone would pity the infants; because infancy would not then be looked on as a state natural and necessary, but as a fault or delinquency in Nature; and we may note several other instances of the same sort.

PROP. VII. Emotions which are aroused or spring from reason, if we take account of time, are stronger than those, which are attributable to particular objects that we regard as absent.
Proof.--We do not regard a thing as absent, by reason of the emotion wherewith we conceive it, but by reason of the body, being affected by another emotion excluding the existence of the said thing (II. xvii.). Wherefore, the emotion, which is referred to the thing which we regard as absent, is not of a nature to overcome the rest of a man's activities and power (IV. vi.), but is, on the contrary, of a nature to be in some sort controlled by the emotions, which exclude the existence of its external cause (IV. ix.). But an emotion which springs from reason is necessarily referred to the common properties of things (see the def. of reason in II. xl. note. ii.), which we always regard as present (for there can be nothing to exclude their present existence), and which we always conceive in the same manner (II. xxxviii.). Wherefore an emotion of this kind always remains the same; and consequently (V. Ax. i.) emotions, which are contrary thereto and are not kept going by their external causes, will be obliged to adapt themselves to it more and more, until they are no longer contrary to it; to this extent the emotion which springs from reason is more powerful. Q.E.D.

PROP. VIII. An emotion is stronger in proportion to the number of simultaneous concurrent causes whereby it is aroused.
Proof.--Many simultaneous causes are more powerful than a few (III. vii.): therefore (IV. v.), in proportion to the increased number of simultaneous causes whereby it is aroused, an emotion becomes stronger. Q.E.D.
Note.--This proposition is also evident from V. Ax. ii.

Again, as the mind's essence, in other words, its power (III. vii.), consists solely in thought (II. xi.), the mind is less passive in respect to an emotion, which causes it to think of several things at once, than in regard to an equally strong emotion, which keeps it engrossed in the contemplation of a few or of a single object: this was our second point. Lastly, this emotion (III. xlviii.), in so far as it is attributable to several causes, is less powerful in regard to each of them. Q.E.D.

PROP. X. So long as we are not assailed by emotions contrary to our nature, we have the power of arranging and associating the modifications of our body according to the intellectual order.
Proof.--The emotions, which are contrary to our nature, that is (IV. xxx.), which are bad, are bad in so far as they impede the mind from understanding (IV. xxvii.). So long, therefore, as we are not assailed by emotions contrary to our nature, the mind's power, whereby it endeavours to understand things (IV. xxvi.), is not impeded, and therefore it is able to form clear and distinct ideas and to deduce them one from another (II. xl. note ii. and II. xlvii note); consequently we have in such cases the power of arranging and associating the modifications of the body according to the intellectual order. Q.E.D.
Note.--By this power of rightly arranging and associating the bodily modifications we can guard ourselves from being easily affected by evil emotions. For (V. vii.) a greater force is needed for controlling the emotions, when they are arranged and associated according to the intellectual order, than when they are uncertain and unsettled. The best we can do, therefore, so long as we do not possess a perfect knowledge of our emotions, is to frame a system of right conduct, or fixed practical precepts, to commit it to memory, and to apply it forthwith to the particular circumstances which now and again meet us in life, so that our imagination may become fully imbued therewith, and that it may be always ready to our hand. For instance, we have laid down among the rules of life (IV. xlvi. and note), that hatred should be overcome with love or high-mindedness, and not required with hatred in return. Now, that this precept of reason may be always ready to our hand in time of need, we should often think over and reflect upon the wrongs generally committed by men, and in what manner and way they may be best warded off by high-mindedness: we shall thus associate the idea of wrong with the idea of this precept, which accordingly will always be ready for use when a wrong is done to us (II. xviii.). If we keep also in readiness the notion of our true advantage, and of the good which follows from mutual friendships, and common fellowships; further, if we remember that complete acquiescence is the result of the right way of life (IV. lii.), and that men, no less than everything else, act by the necessity of their nature: in such case I say the wrong, or the hatred, which commonly arises therefrom, will engross a very small part of our imagination and will be easily overcome; or, if the anger which springs from a grievous wrong be not overcome easily, it will nevertheless be overcome, though not without a spiritual conflict, far sooner than if we had not thus reflected on the subject beforehand. As is indeed evident from V. vi. vii. viii. We should, in the same way, reflect on courage as a means of overcoming fear; the ordinary dangers of life should frequently be brought to mind and imagined, together with the means whereby through readiness of resource and strength of mind we can avoid and overcome them. But we must note, that in arranging our thoughts and conceptions we should always bear in mind that which is good in every individual thing (IV. lxiii. Coroll. and III. lix.), in order that we may always be determined to action by an emotion of pleasure. For instance, if a man sees that he is too keen in the pursuit of honour, let him think over its right use, the end for which it should be pursued, and the means whereby he may attain it. Let him not think of its misuse, and its emptiness, and the fickleness of mankind, and the like, whereof no man thinks except through a morbidness of disposition; with thoughts like these do the most ambitious most torment themselves, when they despair of gaining the distinctions they hanker after, and in thus giving vent to their anger would fain appear wise. Wherefore it is certain that those, who cry out the loudest against the misuse of honour and the vanity of the world, are those who most greedily covet it. This is not peculiar to the ambitious, but is common to all who are ill-used by fortune, and who are infirm in spirit. For a poor man also, who is miserly, will talk incessantly of the misuse of wealth and of the vices of the rich; whereby he merely torments himself, and shows the world that he is intolerant, not only of his own poverty, but also of other people's riches. So, again, those who have been ill received by a woman they love think of nothing but the inconstancy, treachery, and other stock faults of the fair sex; all of which they consign to oblivion, directly they are again taken into favour by their sweetheart. Thus he who would govern his emotions and appetite solely by the love of freedom strives, as far as he can, to gain a knowledge of the virtues and their causes, and to fill his spirit with the joy which arises from the true knowledge of them: he will in no wise desire to dwell on men's faults, or to carp at his fellows, or to revel in a false show of freedom. Whosoever will diligently observe and practice these precepts (which indeed are not difficult) will verily, in a short space of time, be able, for the most part, to direct his actions according to the commandments of reason.

PROP. XI. In proportion as a mental image is referred to more objects, so is it more frequent, or more often vivid, and occupies the mind more.
Proof.--In proportion as a mental image or an emotion is referred to more objects, so are there more causes whereby it can be aroused and fostered, all of which (by hypothesis) the mind contemplates simultaneously in association with the given emotion; therefore the emotion is more frequent, or is more often in full vigour, and (V. viii.) occupies the mind more. Q.E.D.

PROP. XII. The mental images of things are more easily associated with the referred to things which we clearly and distinctly understand, than with others.
Proof.--Things, which we clearly and distinctly understand, are either the common properties of things or deductions therefrom (see definition of Reason, II. xl. note ii.), and are consequently (by the last Prop.) more often aroused in us. Wherefore it may more readily happen, that we should contemplate other things in conjunction with these than in conjunction with something else, and consequently (II. xviii.) that the images of the said things should be more often associated with the images of these than with the images of something else. Q.E.D.

PROP. XIII. A mental image is more often vivid, in proportion as it is associated with a greater number of other images.
Proof.--In proportion as an image is associated with a greater number of other images, so (II. xviii.) are there more causes whereby it can be aroused. Q.E.D.

PROP. XIV. The mind can bring it about, that all bodily modifications or images of things may be referred to the idea of God.
Proof.--There is no modification of the body, whereof the mind may not form some clear and distinct conception (V. iv.); wherefore it can bring it about, that they should all be referred to the idea of God (I. xv.). Q.E.D.

PROP. XV. He who clearly and distinctly understands himself and his emotions loves God, and so much the more in proportion as he understands himself and his emotions.
Proof.--He who clearly and distinctly understands himself and his emotions feels pleasure (III. liii.), and this pleasure is (by the last Prop.) accompanied by the idea of God; therefore (Def. of the Emotions, vi.) such an one loves God, and (for the same reason) so much the more in proportion as he more understands himself and his emotions. Q.E.D.

PROP. XVI. This love towards God must hold the chief place in the mind.
Proof.--For this love is associated with all the modifications of the body (V. xiv.) and is fostered by them all (V. xv.); therefore (V. xi.), it must hold the chief place in the mind. Q.E.D.

PROP. XVII. God is without passions, neither is he affected by any emotion of pleasure or pain.
Proof.--All ideas, in so far as they are referred to God, are true (II. xxxii.), that is (II. Def. iv.) adequate; and therefore (by the general Def. of the Emotions) God is without passions. Again, God cannot pass either to a greater or to a lesser perfection (I. xx. Coroll. ii.); therefore (by Def. of the Emotions, ii. iii.) he is not affected by any emotion of pleasure or pain. Q.E.D.
Corollary.--Strictly speaking, God does not love or hate anyone. For God (by the foregoing Prop.) is not affected by any emotion of pleasure or pain, consequently (Def. of the Emotions, vi. vii.) he does not love or hate anyone.

PROP. XVIII. No one can hate God.
Proof.--The idea of God which is in us is adequate and perfect (II. xlvi. xlvii.); wherefore, in so far as we contemplate God, we are active (III. iii.) ; consequently (III. lix.) there can be no pain accompanied by the idea of God, in other words (Def of the Emotions, vii.), no one can hate God. Q.E.D.
Corollary.--Love towards God cannot be turned into hate.

Note.--It may be objected that, as we understand God as the cause of all things, we by that very fact regard God as the cause of pain. But I make answer, that, in so far as we understand the causes of pain, it to that extent (V. iii.) ceases to be a passion, that is, it ceases to be pain (III. lix.); therefore, in so far as we understand God to be the cause of pain, we to that extent feel pleasure.

PROP. XIX. He, who loves God, cannot endeavour that God should love him in return.
Proof.--For, if a man should so endeavour, he would desire (V. xvii Coroll.) that God, whom he loves, should not be God, and consequently he would desire to feel pain (III. xix.); which is absurd (III. xxviii.). Therefore, he who loves God, &c. Q.E.D.

PROP. XX. This love towards God cannot be stained by the emotion of envy or jealousy: contrariwise, it is the more fostered, in proportion as we conceive a greater number of men to be joined to God by the same bond of love.
Proof.--This love towards God is the highest good which we can seek for under the guidance of reason (IV. xxviii.), it is common to all men (IV. xxxvi.),and we desire that all should rejoice therein (IV. xxxvii.); therefore (Def. of the Emotions, xxiii.), it cannot be stained by the emotion envy nor by, the emotion of jealousy, (V. xviii. see definition of Jealousy, III. xxxv. note); but, contrariwise, it must needs be the more fostered, in proportion as we conceive a greater number of men to rejoice therein. Q.E.D.
Note.--We can in the same way, show, that there is no emotion directly contrary to this love, whereby this love can be destroyed; therefore we may conclude, that this love towards God is the most constant of all the emotions, and that, in so far as it is referred to the body, it cannot be destroyed, unless the body be destroyed also. As to its nature, in so far as it is referred to the mind only, we shall presently inquire.
I have through all the remedies against the emotions, or all that the mind, considered in itself alone, can do against them. Whence it appears that the mind's power over the emotions consists:—
I. In the actual knowledge of the emotions (V. iv note).
II. In the fact that it separates the emotions from the thought of an external cause, which we conceive confusedly (V. ii. and iv. note).
III. In the fact, that, in respect to time, the emotions referred to things, which we distinctly understand, surpass those referred to what we conceive in a confused and fragmentary manner (V. vii.).
IV. In the number of causes whereby those modifications (Affectiones. Camerer reads affectus—emotions), are fostered, which have regard to the common properties of things or to God (V. ix. xi.).
V. Lastly, in the order wherein the mind can arrange and associate, one with another, its own emotions (V. x. note and xii. xiii. xiv.).
But, in order that this power of the mind over the emotions may be better understood, it should be specially observed that the emotions are called by us strong, when we compare the emotion of one man with the emotion of another, and see that one man is more troubled than another by the same emotion; or when we are comparing the various emotions of the same man one with another, and find that he is more affected or stirred by one emotion than by another. For the strength of every emotion is defined by a comparison of our own power with the power of an external cause. Now the power of the mind is defined by knowledge only, and its infirmity or passion is defined by the privation of knowledge only: it therefore follows, that that mind is most passive, whose greatest part is made up of inadequate ideas, so that it may be characterized more readily by its passive states than by its activities: on the other hand, that mind is most active, whose greatest part is made up of adequate ideas, so that, although it may contain as many inadequate ideas as the former mind, it may yet be more easily characterized by ideas attributable to human virtue, than by ideas which tell of human infirmity. Again, it must be observed, that spiritual unhealthiness; and misfortunes can generally be traced to excessive love for something which is subject to many variations, and which we can never become masters of. For no one is solicitous or anxious about anything, unless he loves it; neither do wrongs, suspicions, enmities, &c. arise, except in regard to things whereof no one can be really master.
We may thus readily conceive the power which clear and distinct knowledge, and especially that third kind of knowledge (II. xlvii. note), founded on the actual knowledge of God, possesses over the emotions: if it does not absolutely destroy them, in so far as they are passions (V. iii. and iv. note); at any rate, it causes them to occupy a very small part of the mind (V. xiv.). Further, it begets a love towards a thing immutable and eternal (V. xv.), whereof we may really enter into possession (II. xlv.); neither can it be defiled with those faults which are inherent in ordinary love; but it may grow from strength to strength, and may engross the greater part of the mind, and deeply penetrate it.
And now I have finished with all that concerns this present life: for, as I said in the beginning of this note, I have briefly described all the remedies against the emotions. And this everyone may readily have seen for himself, if he has attended to what is advanced in the present note, and also to the definitions of the mind and its emotions, and, lastly, to Propositions i. and iii. of Part III. It is now, therefore, time to pass on to those matters, which appertain to the duration of the mind, without relation to the body.

PROP. XXI. The mind can only imagine anything, or remember what is past, while the body endures.
Proof.--The mind does not express the actual existence of its body, nor does it imagine the modifications of the body as actual, except while the body endures (II. viii Coroll.); and, consequently (II. xxvi.), it does not imagine any body as actually existing, except while its own body endures. Thus it cannot imagine anything (for definition of Imagination, see II. xvii. note), or remember things past, except while the body endures (see definition of Memory, II. xviii. note). Q.E.D.

PROP. XXII. Nevertheless in God there is necessarily an idea, which expresses the essence of this or that human body under the form of eternity.
Proof.--God is the cause, not only of the existence of this or that human body, but also of its essence (I. xxv.). This essence, therefore, must necessarily be conceived through the very essence of God (I. Ax. iv.), and be thus conceived by a certain eternal necessity (I. xvi.); and this conception. must necessarily exist in God (II. iii.). Q.E.D.

PROP. XXIII. The human mind cannot be absolutely destroyed with the body, but there remains of it something which is eternal.
Proof.--There is necessarily in God a concept or idea, which expresses the essence of the human body (last Prop.), which, therefore, is necessarily something appertaining to the essence of the human mind (II. xiii.). But we have not assigned to the human mind any, duration, definable by time, except in so far as it expresses the actual existence of the body, which is explained through duration, and may be defined by time—that is (II. viii. Coroll.), we do not assign to it duration, except while the body endures. Yet, as there is something, notwithstanding, which is conceived by a certain eternal necessity through the very essence of God (last Prop.); this something, which appertains to the essence of the mind, will necessarily be eternal. Q.E.D.
Note.--This idea, which expresses the essence of the body under the form of eternity, is, as we have said, a certain mode of thinking, which belongs to the essence of the mind, and is necessarily eternal. Yet it is not possible that we should remember that we existed before our body, for our body can bear no trace of such existence, neither can eternity be defined in terms of time, or have any relation to time. But, notwithstanding, we feel and know that we are eternal. For the mind feels those things that it conceives by understanding, no less than those things that it remembers. For the eyes of the mind, whereby it sees and observes things, are none other than proofs. Thus, although we do not remember that we existed before the body, yet we feel that our mind, in so far as it involves the essence of the body, under the form of eternity, is eternal, and that thus its existence cannot be defined in terms of time, or explained through duration. Thus our mind can only be said to endure, and its existence can only be defined by a fixed time, in so far as it involves the actual existence of the body. Thus far only has it the power of determining the existence of things by time, and conceiving them under the category of duration.

PROP. XXIV. The more we understand particular things, the more do we understand God.
Proof.--This is evident from I. xxv. Coroll.

PROP. XXV. The highest endeavour of the mind, and the highest virtue is to understand things by the third kind of knowledge.
Proof.--The third kind of knowledge proceeds from an adequate idea of certain attributes of God to an adequate knowledge of the essence of things (see its definition II. xl. note ii.); and, in proportion as we understand things more in this way, we better understand God (by the last Prop.); therefore (IV. xxviii.) the highest virtue of the mind, that is (IV. Def. viii.) the power, or nature, or (III. vii.) highest endeavour of the mind, is to understand things by the third kind of knowledge. Q.E.D.

PROP. XXVI. In proportion as the mind is more capable of understanding things by the third kind of knowledge, it desires more to understand things by that kind.
Proof.--This is evident. For, in so far as we conceive the mind to be capable of conceiving things by this kind of knowledge, we, to that extent, conceive it as determined thus to conceive things; and consequently (Def. of the Emotions, i.), the mind desires so to do, in proportion as it is more capable thereof. Q.E.D.

PROP. XXVII. From this third kind of knowledge arises the highest possible mental acquiescence.
Proof.--The highest virtue of the mind is to know God (IV. xxviii.), or to understand things by the third kind of knowledge (V. xxv.), and this virtue is greater in proportion as the mind knows things more by the said kind of knowledge (V. xxiv.): consequently, he who knows things by this kind of knowledge passes to the summit of human perfection, and is therefore (Def. of the Emotions, ii.) affected by the highest pleasure, such pleasure being accompanied by the idea of himself and his own virtue; thus (Def. of the Emotions, xxv.), from this kind of knowledge arises the highest possible acquiescence. Q.E.D.

PROP. XXVIII. The endeavour or desire to know things by the third kind of knowledge cannot arise from the first, but from the second kind of knowledge.
Proof.--This proposition is self-evident. For whatsoever we understand clearly and distinct we understand either through itself, or through that which is conceived through itself; that is, ideas which are clear and distinct in us, or which are referred to the third kind of knowledge (II. xl. note ii.) cannot follow from ideas that are fragmentary, and confused, and are referred to knowledge of the first kind, but must follow from adequate ideas, or ideas of the second and third kind of knowledge; therefore (Def. of the Emotions, i.), the desire of knowing things by the third kind of knowledge cannot arise from the first, but from the second kind. Q.E.D.

PROP. XXIX. Whatsoever the mind understands under the form of eternity, it does not understand by virtue of conceiving the present actual existence of the body, but by virtue of conceiving the essence of the body under the form of eternity.
Proof.--In so far as the mind conceives the present existence of its body, it to that extent conceives duration which can be determined by time, and to that extent only, has it the power of conceiving things in relation to time (V. xxi. II. xxvi.). But eternity cannot be explained in terms of duration (I. Def. viii. and explanation). Therefore to this extent the mind has not the power of conceiving things under the form of eternity, but it possesses such power, because it is of the nature of reason to conceive things under the form of eternity (II. xliv. Coroll. ii.), and also because it is of the nature of the mind to conceive the essence of the body under the form of eternity (V. xxiii.), for besides these two there is nothing which belongs to the essence of mind (II. xiii.). Therefore this power of conceiving things under the form of eternity only belongs to the mind in virtue of the mind's conceiving the essence of the body under the form of eternity. Q.E.D.
Note.--Things are conceived by us as actual in two ways; either as existing in relation to a given time and place, or as contained in God and following from the necessity of the divine nature. Whatsoever we conceive in this second way as true or real, we conceive under the form of eternity, and their ideas involve the eternal and infinite essence of God, as we showed in II. xlv. and note, which see.

PROP. XXX. Our mind, in so far as it knows itself and the body under the form of eternity, has to that extent necessarily a knowledge of God, and knows that it is in God, and is conceived through God.
Proof.--Eternity is the very essence of God, in so far as this involves necessary existence (I. Def. viii.). Therefore to conceive things under the form of eternity, is to conceive things in so far as they are conceived through thp essence of God as real entities, or in so far as they involve existence through the essence of God; wherefore our mind, in so far as it conceives itself and the body under the form of eternity, has to that extent necessarily a knowledge of God, and knows, &c. Q.E.D.

PROP. XXXI. The third kind of knowledge depends on the mind, as its formal cause, in so far as the mind itself is eternal.
Proof.--The mind does not conceive anything under the form of eternity, except in so far as it conceives its own body under the form of eternity (V. xxix.); that is, except in so far as it is eternal (V. xxi. xxiii.); therefore (by the last Prop.), in so far as it is eternal, it possesses the knowledge of God, which knowledge is necessarily adequate (II. xlvi.); hence the mind, in so far as it is eternal, is capable of knowing everything which can follow from this given knowledge of God (II. xl.), in other words, of knowing things by the third kind of knowledge (see Def. in II. xl. note ii.), whereof accordingly the mind (III. Def. i.), in so far as it is eternal, is the adequate or formal cause of such knowledge. Q.E.D.
Note.--In proportion, therefore, as a man is more potent in this kind of knowledge, he will be more completely conscious of himself and of God; in other words, he will be more perfect and blessed, as will appear more clearly in the sequel. But we must here observe that, although we are already certain that the mind is eternal, in so far as it conceives things under the form of eternity, yet, in order that what we wish to show may be more readily explained and better understood, we will consider the mind itself, as though it had just begun to exist and to understand things under the form of eternity, as indeed we have done hitherto; this we may do without any danger of error, so long as we are careful not to draw any conclusion, unless our premisses are plain.

PROP. XXXII. Whatsoever we understand by the is accompanied by the idea of God as cause.
Proof.--From this kind of knowledge arises the highest possible mental acquiescence, that is (Def. of the Emotions, xxv.), pleasure, and this acquiescence is accompanied by the idea of the mind itself (V. xxvii.), and consequently (V. xxx.) the idea also of God as cause. Q.E.D.
Corollary.--From the third kind of knowledge necessarily arises the intellectual love of God. From this kind of knowledge arises pleasure accompanied by the idea of God as cause, that is (Def. of the Emotions, vi.), the love of God; not in so far as we imagine him as present (V. xxix.), but in so far as we understand him to be eternal; this is what I call the intellectual love of God.

PROP. XXXIII. The intellectual love of God, which arises from the third kind of knowledge, is eternal.
Proof.--The third kind of knowledge is eternal (V. xxxi. and I. Ax. iii.); therefore (by the same Axiom) the love which arises therefrom is also necessarily eternal. Q.E.D.
Note.--Although this love towards God has (by the foregoing Prop.) no beginning, it yet possesses all the perfections of love, just as though it had arisen as we feigned in the Coroll. of the last Prop. Nor is there here any difference, except that the mind possesses as eternal those same perfections which we feigned to accrue to it, and they are accompanied by the idea of God as eternal cause. If pleasure consists in the transition to a greater perfection, assuredly blessedness must consist in the mind being endowed with perfection itself.

PROP. XXXIV. The mind is, only while the body endures, subject to those emotions which are attributable to passions.
Proof.--Imagination is the idea wherewith the mind contemplates a thing as present (II. xvii. note); yet this idea indicates rather the present disposition of the human body than the nature of the external thing (II. xvi. Coroll. ii.). Therefore emotion (see general Def. of the Emotions) is imagination, in so far as it indicates the present disposition of the body; therefore (V. xxi.) the mind is, only while the body endures, subject to emotions which are attributable to passions. Q.E.D.
Corollary.--Hence it follows that no love save intellectual love is eternal.

Note.--If we look to men's general opinion, we shall see that they are indeed conscious of the eternity of their mind, but that they confuse eternity with duration, and ascribe it to the imagination or the memory which they believe to remain after death.

PROP. XXXV. God loves himself with an infinite intellectual love.
Proof.--God is absolutely infinite (I. Def. vi.), that is (II. Def. vi.), the nature of God rejoices in infinite perfection; and such rejoicing is (II. iii.) accompanied by the idea of himself, that is (I. xi. and I. Def. i.), the idea of his own cause: now this is what we have (in V. xxxii. Coroll.) described as intellectual love. Q.E.D.

PROP. XXXVI. The intellectual love of the mind towards God is that very love of God whereby God loves himself, not in so far as he is infinite, but in so far as he can be explained through the essence of the human mind regarded under the form of eternity; in other words, the intellectual love of the mind towards God is part of the infinite love wherewith God loves himself.
Proof.--This love of the mind must be referred to the activities of the mind (V. xxxii. Coroll. and III. iii.); it is itself, indeed, an activity whereby the mind regards itself accompanied by the idea of God as cause (V. xxxii. and Coroll.); that is (I. xxv. Coroll. and II. xi. Coroll.), an activity whereby God, in so far as he can be explained through the human mind, regards himself accompanied by the idea of himself; therefore (by the last Prop.), this love of the mind is part of the infinite love wherewith God loves himself. Q.E.D.
Corollary.--Hence it follows that God, in so far as he loves himself, loves man, and, consequently, that the love of God towards men, and the intellectual love of the mind towards God are identical.

Note.--From what has been said we clearly understand, wherein our salvation, or blessedness, or freedom, consists: namely, in the constant and eternal love towards God, or in God's love towards men. This love or blessedness is, in the Bible, called Glory and not undeservedly. For whether this love be referred to God or to the mind, it may rightly be called acquiescence of spirit, which Def. of the Emotions, xxv. and xxx.) is not really distinguished from glory. In so far as it is referred to God, it is (V. xxxv.) pleasure, if we may still use that term, accompanied by the idea of itself, and, in so far as it is referred to the mind, it is the same (V. xxvii.).
Again, since the essence of our mind consists solely in knowledge, whereof the beginning and the foundation is God (I. xv. and II. xlvii. note), it becomes clear to us, in what manner and way our mind, as to its essence and existence, follows from the divine nature and constantly depends on God. I have thought it worth while here to call attention to this, in order to show by this example how the knowledge of particular things, which I have called intuitive or of the third kind (II. xl. note ii.), is potent, and more powerful than the universal knowledge, which I have styled knowledge of the second kind. For, although in Part I showed in general terms, that all things (and consequently, also, the human mind) depend as to their essence and existence on God, yet that demonstration, though legitimate and placed beyond the chances of doubt, does not affect our mind so much, as when the same conclusion is derived from the actual essence of some particular thing, which we say depends on God.

PROP. XXXVII. There is nothing in nature, which is contrary to this intellectual love, or which can take it away.
Proof.--This intellectual love follows necessarily from the nature of the mind, in so far as the latter is regarded through the nature of God as an eternal truth (V. xxxiii. and xxix.). If, therefore, there should be anything which would be contrary to this love, that thing would be contrary to that which is true; consequently, that, which should be able to take away this love, would cause that which is true to be false; an obvious absurdity. Therefore there is nothing in nature which, &c. Q.E.D.
Note.--The Axiom of Part IV. has reference to particular things, in so far as they are regarded in relation to a given time and place: of this, I think, no one can doubt.

PROP. XXXVIII. In proportion as the mind understands more things by the second and third kind of knowledge, it is less subject to those emotions which are evil, and stands in less fear of death.
Proof.--The mind's essence consists in knowledge (II. xi.); therefore, in proportion as the mind understands more things by the second and third kinds of knowledge, the greater will be the part of it that endures (V. xxix. and xxiii.), and, consequently (by the last Prop.), the greater will be the part that is not touched by the emotions, which are contrary to our nature, or in other words, evil (IV. xxx.). Thus, in proportion as the mind understands more things by the second and third kinds of knowledge, the greater will be the part of it, that remains unimpaired, and, consequently, less subject to emotions, &c. Q.E.D.
Note.--Hence we understand that point which I touched on in IV. xxxix. note, and which I promised to explain in this Part; namely, that death becomes less hurtful, in proportion as the mind's clear and distinct knowledge is greater, and, consequently, in proportion as the mind loves God more. Again, since from the third kind of knowledge arises the highest possible acquiescence (V. xxvii.), it follows that the human mind can attain to being of such a nature, that the part thereof which we have shown to perish with the body (V. xxi.) should be of little importance when compared with the part which endures. But I will soon treat of the subject at greater length.

PROP. XXXIX. He, who possesses a body capable of the greatest number of activities, possesses a mind whereof the greatest part is eternal.
Proof.--He, who possesses a body capable of the greatest number of activities, is least agitated by those emotions which are evil (IV. xxxviii.) that is (IV. xxx.), by those emotions which are contrary to our nature; therefore (V. x.), he possesses the power of arranging and associating the modifications of the body according to the intellectual order, and, consequently, of bringing it about, that all the modifications of the body should be referred to the idea of God; whence it will come to pass that (V. xv.) he will be affected with love towards God, which (V. xvi.) must occupy or constitute the chief part of the mind; therefore (V. xxxiii.), such a man will possess a mind whereof the chief part is eternal. Q.E.D.
Note.--Since human bodies are capable of the greatest number of activities, there is no doubt but that they may be of such a nature, that they may be referred to minds possessing a great knowledge of themselves and of God, and whereof the greatest or chief part is eternal, and, therefore, that they should scarcely fear death. But, in order that this may be understood more clearly, we must here call to mind, that we live in a state of perpetual variation, and, according as we are changed for the better or the worse, we are called happy or unhappy.
For he, who, from being an infant or a child, becomes a corpse, is called unhappy; whereas it is set down to happiness, if we have been able to live through the whole period of life with a sound mind in a sound body. And, in reality, he, who, as in the case of an infant or a child, has a body capable of very few activities, and depending, for the most part, on external causes, has a mind which, considered in itself alone, is scarcely conscious of itself, or of God, or of things; whereas, he, who has a body capable of very many activities, has a mind which, considered in itself alone, is highly conscious of itself, of God, and of things. In this life, therefore, we primarily endeavour to bring it about, that the body of a child, in so far as its nature allows and conduces thereto, may be changed into something else capable of very many activities, and referable to a mind which is highly conscious of itself, of God, and of things; and we desire so to change it, that what is referred to its imagination and memory may become insignificant, in comparison with its intellect, as I have already said in the note to xxxviii.

PROP. XL. In proportion as each thing possesses more of perfection, so is it more active, and less passive; and, vice versa, in proportion as it is more active, so is it more perfect.
Proof.--In proportion as each thing is more perfect, it possesses more of reality (II. Def. vi.), and, consequently (III. iii. and note), it is to that extent more active and less passive. This demonstration may be reversed, and thus prove that, in proportion as a thing is more active, so is it more perfect. Q.E.D.
Corollary.--Hence it follows that the part of the mind which endures, be it great or small, is more perfect than the rest. For the eternal part of the mind (V. xiii. xxix.) the understanding, through which alone we are said to act (III. iii.); the part which we have shown to perish is the imagination (V. xxi.), through which only we are said to be passive (III. iii. and general Def. of the Emotions); therefore, the former, be it great or small, is more perfect than the latter.

Note.--Such are the doctrines which I had purposed to set forth concerning the mind, in so far as it is regarded without relation to the body; whence, as also from I. xxi. and other places, it is plain that our mind, in so far as it understands, is an eternal mode of thinking, which is determined by another eternal mode of thinking, and this other by a third, and so on to infinity; so that all taken together at once constitute the eternal and infinite intellect of God.

PROP. XLI. Even if we did not know that our mind is eternal, we should still consider as of primary importance piety and religion, and generally all things which, in Part IV., we showed to be attributable to courage and high-mindedness.
Proof.--The first and only, foundation of virtue, or the rule of right living is (IV. xxii. Coroll. and xxiv.) seeking one's own true interest. Now, while we determined what reason prescribes as useful, we took no account of the mind's eternity, which has only become known to us in this Fifth Part. Although we were ignorant at that time that the mind is eternal, we nevertheless stated that the qualities attributable to courage and high-mindedness are of primary importance. Therefore, even if we were still ignorant of this doctrine, we should yet put the aforesaid precepts of reason in the first place. Q.E.D.
Note.--The general belief of the multitude seems to be different. Most people seem to believe that they are free, in so far as they may obey their lusts, and that they cede their rights, in so far as they are bound to live according to the commandments of the divine law. They therefore believe that piety, religion, and, generally, all things attributable to firmness of mind, are burdens, which, after death, they hope to lay aside, and to receive the reward for their bondage, that is, for their piety, and religion; it is not only by this hope, but also, and chiefly, by the fear of being horribly punished after death, that they are induced to live according to the divine commandments, so far as their feeble and infirm spirit will carry them.
If men had not this hope and this fear, but believed that the mind perishes with the body, and that no hope of prolonged life remains for the wretches who are broken down with the burden of piety, they would return to their own inclinations, controlling everything in accordance with their lusts, and desiring to obey fortune rather than themselves. Such a course appears to me not less absurd than if a man, because he does not believe that he can by wholesome food sustain his body for ever, should wish to cram himself with poisons and deadly fare; or if, because he sees that the mind is not eternal or immortal, he should prefer to be out of his mind altogether, and to live without the use of reason; these ideas are so absurd as to be scarcely worth refuting.

PROP. XLII. Blessedness is not the reward of virtue, but virtue itself ; neither do we rejoice therein, because we control our lusts, but, contrariwise, because we rejoice therein, we are able to control our lusts.
Proof.--Blessedness consists in love towards God (V. xxxvi. and note), which love springs from the third kind of knowledge (V. xxxii. Coroll.); therefore this love (III. iii. lix.) must be referred to the mind, in so far as the latter is active; therefore (IV. Def. viii.) it is virtue itself. This was our first point. Again, in proportion as the mind rejoices more in this divine love or blessedness, so does it the more understand (V. xxxii.); that is (V. iii. Coroll.), so much the more power has it over the emotions, and (V. xxxviii.) so much the less is it subject to those emotions which are evil; therefore, in proportion as the mind rejoices in this divine love or blessedness, so has it the power of controlling lusts. And, since human power in controlling the emotions consists solely in the understanding, it follows that no one rejoices in blessedness, because he has controlled his lusts, but, contrariwise, his power of controlling his lusts arises from this blessedness itself. Q.E.D.
Note.--I have thus completed all I wished to set forth touching the mind's power over the emotions and the mind's freedom. Whence it appears, how potent is the wise man, and how much he surpasses the ignorant man, who is driven only by his lusts. For the ignorant man is not only distracted in various ways by external causes without ever gaining, the true acquiescence of his spirit, but moreover lives, as it were unwitting of himself, and of God, and of things, and as soon as he ceases to suffer, ceases also to be. Whereas the wise man, in so far as he is regarded as such, is scarcely at all disturbed in spirit, but, being conscious of himself, and of God, and of things, by a certain eternal necessity, never ceases to be, but always possesses true acquiescence of his spirit. If the way which I have pointed out as leading to this result seems exceedingly hard, it may nevertheless be discovered. Needs must it be hard, since it is so seldom found. How would it be possible, if salvation were ready to our hand, and could without great labour be found, that it should be by almost all men neglected? But all things excellent are as difficult as they are rare.

ANALYSIS: 1. The Egyptian people, practically all sides of this internal crisis, have come to understand that the myth that the US or any other major power has the ability to enforce anything and deny the legitimate sovereign rights of any nation (U.N. Charters), is WRONG! Egypt is up to them! As it should be.

‎2. The International Community has a right to expect that World Heritage sites, Museums and Basic Human Rights are Protected by all U.N. Member States. OUR U.S. Policy under President Obama is about both speaking out against abuses of Human Rights and building Respectful Relations with all nations. IF mistakes are made, based on inaccurate information then that is deeply lamentable. In a World as Complex as ours it is inevitable that we arrive at situations where there are no simple, easy, perfect solutions.

‎3. Mubarak is no longer a significant factor, if he really ever was, and our policy must be to stand by the right of The Egyptian People to arrive at their own solutions.

‎4. All of US non-Egyptians have a right to express our concerns about what goes on in any country: that is part of our Great Democratic Heritage of Freedom of Speech & Expression. That said; we must be careful how we express ourselves. Even this Philosopher can get so angry when anyone anywhere in the world is being subjected to terrible brutality! To the extent that I wish I could simply stand atop the Great Pyramid of Khufu at Giza with a Mega-Loudspeaker system and begin my ability to speak Reason to the masses. Alas; I can't. None of US can. This is The Tragedy of Man (Imre Madach). All we can do is hope someone is listening to our little voices out here in the Cyber-Wilderness.

5. As for the near-future: It is evident that Egypt is beginning to see the Light at the End of The Tunnel. And it is clear that The Arab World in general has begun to understand that the Obama Administration cannot and will not force any nation to do anything! That may have been the un-written policy of other administrations. IT IS NOT OURS. So; while it is not totally clear where we will be in the days, weeks and months to follow; one thing is CERTAIN: the Arab World has Awoken to a New Dynamic Reality, and we must all be very careful not to disrespect or even seem to disrespect the Legitimate Rights of any Arab nation or any nation, period. Because, unfortunately, due to the unwise policies of certain previous administrations, and our dependency on fossil fuel, we are stuck with a very unpleasant Global Public Image. Smith, at that horrific moment, which many of US felt moments later, when disaster struck at the heart of the World's Scientific and Spiritual Community! I cannot and dare not.

My Response To Palin's Dangerous "Blood Libel" Rhetoric

I don't think Palin is unaware of what the term "Blood Libel" means. Rather, it would seem she chose this term quite deliberately: for in their own twisted way many Rapture-addicted Armageddon-desiring pseudo-Christians think that they are today's version of yesterday's persecuted Jews! Palin and people of her type of Mindset & Worldview want us Jews to convert and become followers of Jesus, just before the final hours (that they would cause to happen) before the Rapture! But for those of us Jews, Muslims and other Christians, as well as other Spiritual and Humanistic persons, who do not accept Jesus as the Messiah; we are deserving of eternal suffering and damnation in hell. Wherever that is!?!
No. Palin and her PR people knew exactly what they were doing and this should be sufficient reason, in of itself, to consider a Class Action Lawsuit for Incitement to Riot and Hate Speech!
Now; I know many of my fellow Jews here will think to themselves: "Hey JP, tone down the rhetoric here.... We don't need to add fuel to the fire. Palin must have been mistaken and will soon issue an apology of sorts." Okay... We'll see. But I'd rather join my fellow moderate and truly Spiritual and Humanistic Jews, Muslims, Christians, Taoists, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Bahais and other fellow Americans who clearly see, just as Cenk of The Young Turks does, that some, not all, just some of the New Right are nothing but Fascists pretending to be Conservatives. In fact; these fake Conservatives do great harm to those True Conservatives, and it is about time that America's True Conservatives take a stand and tell Palin and her type that they are not just wrong, but are undermining True Conservative interests!
I actually have mixed feelings for Palin: I want to feel sorry for her and tell her; hey Sarah, it's okay to err as we are all imperfect, but being the son of a Survivor and the grandson of a great Hungarian Jewish Intellectual who was second most wanted, dead or alive, on Hitler's personal list; I cannot afford to take my chances.
She and others like her say things which are very dangerous; not so much because of their distorted perception of religions (including their very own), but because they incite psychotic people to harm and murder wonderful fellow Americans and others!
Let us not be fooled! IF Palin wants to say she has been wrong for many years now...and not just for what she said now...then she has the Power to Change and become the good mother she really wants to be.
Whatever happens; I love my America, but what I see today is beginning to look more like some other places in the World, past and present.

My Thoughts After The Horrific Violence in Tucson, Arizona

I have long come to the conclusion, based on a thorough understanding of the actual complexity of the issues involved, that the right to bare arms was never intended to make it possible for psychopaths to have relatively easy access to weapons whose sole purpose should be to conduct legitimate acts of self-defense in actual military combat situations or in the event that a foreign military has invaded our nation. Even so; banning weapons is only part of the solution.

We need to examine the unintended consequences of promoting the most aggressive forms of Capitalism and how doing so has damaged our ability do live emotionally and intellectually meaningful and fulfilling lives! After all; people who live in communities that facilitate our need for respectful and diverse intellectual, emotional and even (for adults) intimate relationships tend not to have these kinds of horrific and tragic incidents of extreme violence! While the Flower Power Hippy Era had its very negative downside (substance abuse and abuse of the Human Rights of minors) it also had its positive aspects; which have since been shunned to our detriment. No doubt HIV-AIDS also contributed to the materialisation of mature consensual intimate relationships among adults. Even in some of those countries which used to be the most Liberal; there has been a similar materialisation of intimacy! But the fact of the matter is this: when our young ones see that their parents are unhappy and frustrated and insecure, then they themselves begin to lose their ability to trust society and their willingness to contribute constructively and productively towards the greater welfare of society, through the promotion of pro-social values of cohesion, unity-in-diversity, justified tolerance of tolerant others, and principles of egalitarianism.

A healthy society must be willing to accommodate to all types of Individuals, Identities and Life-styles, within reasonable, non-counter-productive limits. America today is not the way it needs to be in order to provide for its own internal security and for it to be sufficiently united-in-diversity to compete effectively in the World Marketplace! Within America we need to seriously consider the idea of creating a bi-national reality similar to some aspects of the Swiss model, whereby the Country 'Mice' (Conservatives) and the Town 'Mice' (Liberals), as well as those who are a mix of both, can live free from the risk of being oppressed by the other! The answer to our problems has to be to change the whole concept of how we should uphold the most obvious Intent and Spirit of Our Great Constitution! The blurring of the divisions and the crossing of the lines has been the source of great and otherwise senseless violent conflict! This would not be about a National Divorce but simply a Separation. And this would not be without minimal protections of the most basic rights of those who would still be living as part of the minority within either of the two or three American Cantons! The Cantonization of America is not at all an anti-Constitutional idea, and even within our Towns (Cities) we need to help create the kind of sub-communities that can provide the kind of cohesive environment that each type of Town 'Mouse' would feel most comfortable around! The ideal of a giant American Suburbia has clearly failed! Time to Think Carefully about this.

And maybe some day in the future we will find that a more gradual and natural Evolution of Societal Attitudes will begin to make such a Cantonized America un-necessary! Violence cannot be the answer, but nor can Emotionally Violent Imposition!

A Comment I Wrote For A Friendly Acquaintance

We should all want to become wealthy, BUT not through having harmed anyone, any innocent person or animal, nor through having harmed any ecosystem, AND not for the sake of wasting our money on things and companies that do more harm to innocent persons, animals and ecosystems! Capitalism has never been the problem; only the incorrect forms of Capitalism, including that which denies the poor, the ill and the misfortunate their basic human rights to the non-excessive benefits and insurances provided for by True Social Democracy!

As for scholarships: indirect evidence amounts, year over year, that there are secretive discriminatory practices, which contradict their very policies as published for public consumption, which are applied by newer generations of people whose worldviews (politics, religion, philosophy) are too often Unethical and definitely Unwise!

The world has never been as corrupt and as much in the hands of competing, ruthless, totally Unethical Lobsters as it is today! It is why there still is no real peace in sight in the ME and many other places! And it is why the general public senses something is really amiss (and a mess too!) BUT is also easily CONFUSED by those who spew deliberately manufactured fake Conspiracy Theories that are meant to further Confuse, Distract, Divide and Harm all sincere efforts at Social Cohesion!

Allow me to qualify the following statement in advance: The following views I express herein are strictly personal opinions, views, do not necessarily reflect the official position(s) and stance(s) of the NJDC and are presented as political theory, and nothing more. IF you properly read and reflect upon what I am writing herein you will find that I am not at all communicating anything that in any way would be advocating any incitement to riot or any illegal acts whatsoever and that I am actually talking ONLY about what our legitimate government and its law-abiding, Constitution-abiding officials could or might do. In effect; none of what you are about to read is directed at private citizens to take action into their own hands, in so far as calls to action are concerned. YouTube and the Internet in general is full of poisonous BIG LIES that are made up of partial-truths, small truths very cleverly mixed with giant lies! They are confusing and brainwashing people, including young and well-intended people, into very destructive, unrealistic, unjustifiably intolerant and violent thoughts and attitudes. We know who are benefitting from a weak USA and a weak EU, and who seek to weaken the Euro-Atlantic-American-Alliance of Democracies. While we must also do our own Reformations and Restorations and accept that too many things have become susceptible to corruption and unethical practices we must not ignore the fact that certain powers around the World cleverly exploit our inherent and natural Democratic weaknesses. As we cannot and will not forfeit our Democratic Freedonian principles and our goals of World Peace and Sustainable Prosperity we must find much more Intelligent and Wise ways to deal with these terrible internal and external threats. Too many well-intended people are fooled into thinking that things like WikiLeaks are actually good and will help serious investigative journalists reveal the most important things. The fact of the matter is that, even as Assange and others have been fooled and cleverly manipulated, the danger of WikiLeaks has less to do with its ability to undermine pragmatic, realistic and essential affairs of state (International Relations, Global Strategic Balancing, etc.) than to do with efforts to lopsidedly benefit one set of powers against another; thereby endangering the whole World, all efforts at building realistic foundations for greater peace and prosperity. There are certain key entities and individuals who have severely and almost lethally harmed our true Freedom of The Press and our ability to have a relatively reliable, honest but benevolently discrete mass media, including individuals who are reminiscent of William Randolph Hearst. There are much more intelligent and wise ways to counter-undermine the anti-Constitutional pseudo-Americans and foreign entities who have severely undermined and continue to develop clever new ways to further undermine our National and International Interests. Finally; whatever we do WE must never deny a single person their legitimate Constitutional and Human Rights; as there is never, ever, any real need to do so. Unfortunately we may yet discover that the only way to uphold all those principles and values we hold dearest will be to strengthen our national borders while forming some kind of devolutionary process that allows for a Switzerland-like Two Separate Sub-Federation of States within One Greater USA! That way there really would be an opportunity for the two main and opposing Socio-Political Models (moderate Conservative Right and moderate Liberal Left) to live side-by-side in such a separate manner as for each of the two Socio-Political Models to prove themselves to their own adherents...and in such a manner as to allow for the free movement into and out of each Sub-Federation! As I see it; this may really be the only way to prevent a permanent and dangerous final splitting-up of our Grand Union!

"CON ARTIST": A Review By A Minor 80s Greenwich Village Legend : "CON ARTIST" is the World's Greatest documentary ever made, and the only one so far, about The World's Greatest Pseudo-Con-Artist Artist, Musician and Game-Show-Host Mark Kostabi, who rose to major fame in the mid-80s New York Avant-Garde Modern Art Scene by attempting to shake and bake the High-End Art Market. The movie, superbly Directed and Produced by Michael Sladek, is a viscously self-referencing movie about a viscously self-referencing artist turned real-life-Don-Quixote who is on a mission to attack the windmills of viscously self-referencing quasi-artists, vulgarity-dealing dealers and whore-roar-ristic art critics in a viscously self-referencing world full of viscously self-referencing mediocre-minded wannabes! All in all; it's a smashingly entertaining, inadvertently funny and even brutally, shockingly sharp psychological expose of raw emotion and semi-contrived self-reflection on the part of a highly creative and brilliant Philosopher of Art masquerading as a Lover of Money whose fingers occasionally set things on fire! You will be crazy-glued to your seat and feel the sensation of warm fluid trickling down from your under-alls and if you are really, really lucky you will discover The Meaning of Life according to Flipper! The reason why Mark Kostabi DID what he DID in the 1980s is quite evident when one takes into consideration what has really been going on in the world of Modern Art Collectorship! I will not elaborate on WHAT has been going on, because anyone with any real intelligence can figure that out for themselves, but what matters is that Mark Kostabi violated most of the rules and upset most of those who set up the rules or who re-enforce them! Early on Mark realized that true artistic talent was not what mattered most to the art dealers and that other things, which have less to do with real, true, genuine, original art, dictate which artists manage to make it to the top, as the business of selling art has long had more to do with things that have nothing to do with what is really art!

Mark Kostabi began his Factory at Kostabi World, inspired by Warhol and stimulated by Basquiat (all three people I have met/known), hoping to shake and bake the world of Modern Art Collectorship and hoping to depose many of the most unethical Big Business "Art' Dealers! Anyone who cautiously reads his early interviews, and especially his Self-Interview in his book "Sadness Because The Video Rental Store Was Closed" can clearly see what his real motive was and still is! All you really have to do is read between the lines! Kostabi had discovered Picasso's (and also, to some extent, Warhol's) not-entirely-secret agenda! And Kostabi sought to become the one who would deliver what others had ultimately failed to achieve! But, you may ask, what is this agenda? Well; one might say it is what truly gifted but struggling artists have ultimately always wanted! Hint: use your imagination, as John Lennon would say! Unfortunately, Kostabi has also failed, so far, to do what he set out, and because he realizes he is running out of time he figured he might as well go for broke and do whatever it might take to regain momentum! Is "CON ARTIST" the answer? Will Kostabi manage to achieve what Picasso and Warhol could not? A look at the condition of our World in general should make it clear that the odds are OVERWHELMINGLY against success!

Is this to say that there is no real hope? No, not at all. There is hope, but chances are rather that there is a group of Extra-Terrestrials who find Kostabi's "slick" Kostabinoids adorable (what with their vague, androgynous humanoid forms), and it is more likely that it will be their arrival that will achieve what Kostabi has been seeking to achieve, and which will shake and bake us all into a higher sense of reality and consciousness!

In the meantime; we must continue to remember the past as if versions of it could happen in the present. As Santayana could have put it: "Those Who Forget The Mistakes of The Past Are Condemned to Repeat Them" - J.P. Fenyo, Philosopher. Remnant Nazis Are Behind Most Al-Qaeda Plots!

Philip K. Dick is one of my all-time favourite Sci-Fi writers. Unbeknownst to most people who like movies based on his Sci-Fi novels; he was also of the same opinion as I; namely that Remnant Nazis (Nazis not caught after World War Two and their brainwashed Nazi offspring) are behind very serious efforts to infiltrate, undermine and eventually totally destroy our relatively democratic and individual-liberty-based way of life! In effect; Remnant Nazis, realizing that they could not destroy us by so-called conventional military means came to the conclusion, even before the very end of World War Two, that the only way they could succeed in destroying our relatively liberal, democratic and freedom-loving way of government and life would be by using vast stolen wealth to finance a very clever, hard-to-uncover-and-prove, conspiracy involving directly infiltrating or using unwary (but easily manipulable) proxies and other rogue entities to infiltrate practically all significant government agencies and institutions, as well as private corporations, of almost all governments and societies the world-over!!! Let's face it! There is plenty of circumstantial evidence, as well as some direct evidence, that proves that a majority of the governments, government agencies, authorities, agents, police and military officials are not aware of the presence of infiltrators in their midst, but would be the first to seek to remove them. Remnant Nazis, their Neo-Nazi offspring and other Fascists have not only managed to deceive their ultimate enemies, most of those of us who love democracy and who love human rights and individual freedoms/liberties, but they have also managed to deceive those whose anti-social and reactionary 'values' are similar and who they plant/position in our midst! Furthermore, to make things even more dangerous and hard to reveal, they deliberately empower and promote key conspiracy theorists who will then promote their cleverly devised conspiracy theories (made to seem preposterous, but containing some truths mixed with BIG LIES) and thereby help discredit any who just happen to connect the real dots and discover the real grand-conspiracy of conspiracies!

The sad truth of the matter is that too many of our relatively well-intended, well-meaning political leaders, business leaders, and intelligence community people are unaware of the real source of many of the terror threats that exist and which are meant to turn us against one another! The psycho terrorist bin Laden, his associates and underlings, other similar terrorist groups and many extremist and pseudo-religious fascist groups all over the world are being aided by these Remnant Nazis and/or their Nazi offspring. Of course there are also those political opportunists, working for certain relatively anti-social, inhuman, brutally cold-hearted corporate interests (ming you; not all corporations and not all wealthy people are anti-social, brutally cold-hearted corporate fascists), who will exploit successful terrorist attacks against us, the relatively defenceless middle-class and working lower-class citizens of the world, and who will also exploit any ongoing threat of attacks! For these Remnant Nazis and their Fascist cohorts or peons are masters at knowing how to exploit human weaknesses and tendencies and have very cleverly managed to poison our societies with viscously increasing levels of insecurity, greed, corruption, distrust and paranoia! A major part of their overall plan is to turn all of us into neurotic and easily manipulable reactionary animals who end up spending/wasting senseless amounts of capital, resources, energy hurting, harming, neglecting or abusing one another, and who will end up doing all the warfare; while they, the Remnant Nazis and their Fascist cohorts, patiently watch and wait from the sidelines! No wonder there is no peace in The Middle East between the Arabs and Israelis, between Muslims, Jews and Christians, and why there are all other senseless racist, anti-social violent conflicts elsewhere (such as between Muslims and Hindus, etc.). Anti-Semitism is once more a major threat to all humanity the world-over, as are all other forms of illogical intolerance and hatred towards people of diverse backgrounds and/or identities and/or life-styles. And the Remnant Nazi offspring and Fascists in general are laughing like hyenas as our efforts at Unity-in-Diversity (the USA, the EU) are failing! After all; the majority of Palestinians and Israelis would already have reached an urgently needed Two-State Peace Agreement, and with such an agreement and the start-up means to implement such a peace the rest of the world would once more feel/sense that there is fair reason to trust government officials, some politicians and that it won't be Big Fear-mongering Business as usual and it we won't be at risk of being murdered by dangerously sick terrorists! Because while the threats are real and these sick pseudo-Muslims (i.e. fakes, thugs, hijackers of moderate religious doctrines) are really out to do horrific things towards us we are only going to be worse off if we naively assume that the danger is as simple as that; when, in fact, there is a deeper set of things going on, involving highly motivated people with a more elaborate plan who seek to set the world on fire so that they can sneak behind our backs and take over while we are too busy only looking at the initial attackers! in other words; al-Qaeda and other very dangerous thugs are simply the more obvious threats, but there are less obvious threats that ultimately are much more able to destroy us!

Most of the world's major conflicts seem, at first glance, to be rather simple in terms of who the specific adversaries are. i.e. which nation or group of people are against which other nation or group of people, and who are their full or partial allies, but the actual reality is (most likely) more complex than that!

During the years just before World War Two Hitler and his top military planners and other relevant advisors spent countless hours planning in advance how they would probably go about invading and conquering Europe and beyond. Not only did they create one set of plans, but they also devised a few alternative contingency plans that would be able to deal with any contingency or unexpected actuality that might arise and which might threaten to thwart their efforts at achieving their goals. Of course they only took into serious consideration possibilities that they felt were...well...for lack of a better word "possible"!
These elaborate plans of conquest went beyond mere military strategy and involved many other aspects of conquest; most notably (for the purpose of this article) they involved identifying all non-German (and, to some extent, non-Aryan.....albeit their definition of Aryan was not entirely scientifically accurate*) natural allies, as well as other ethnic groups and 'races' who they would be able to either directly recruit into the outer-circle of their plan(s) or who they would be able to cleverly manipulate, in ways that would not be obvious to those being manipulated. And they also included in their plans clever ways to infiltrate and/or confuse and divide all their primary enemies; especially us Jews!!! We must always keep in mind that Hitler was not only influenced by the ideas and methods of the occult anti-Semitic types of Theosophists, Runists, Armanists, The List Society, The German Order, the Thule Society, New Templar Doctrine Order, and other such occult groups led by such notorious and infamous persons as Guido Von List, Jorg Lanz von Liebenfelz, and Karl Maria Wiligut, but Hitler was also quite aware of the historic conflicts of the world, especially the prejudices that Muslims, especially Arab Muslims and Persian Shiites had against Jews! And in those elaborate plans were included efforts to exploit these prejudices to the max!

Today the descendants of the original Nazis, in the form of the brainwashed offspring of Remnant Nazis, have had over 55 years to further exploit historic divisions based on all manner of unjustified prejudices, not just among many (albeit not all) Muslims and pseudo-Muslims, but among an indefinite number of Christians and pseudo-Christians (i.e. mainstream and fringe groups), as well as among many Hindus and people of other religious backgrounds and/or identities. And it is extremely troubling to realize that most people who are being cleverly manipulated into intolerant and even violently hateful conduct are not aware of how cleverly they are being manipulated. To make matters worse; even some relatively educated Jews have been very cleverly manipulated into developing unjustified extreme prejudices and biases against Islam, Muslims and others! I could mention some names here, but that would actually defeat the overall purpose of this article; for my purpose is not to ruin the potential positive benefits for those who may chance upon my words and ideas, but to expose a serious layer of real complexity in the way entire groups and nations of people can be duped into serving purposes that they would not otherwise be aware of!

In the final two years of World War Two Hitler and his top Nazi Party cohorts, including top SS officials, met secretly on several occasions to devise a Plan B; as they could already see that they might yet lose the war! Plan B was based on the idea that IF they could not defeat Liberal Democracies and the Allies in general through so-called conventional military force....which, mind you, were the only obstacles to destroying the Jewish peoples and eventually supplanting Judeo-Christian ethics with their own twisted version of Aryano-Christian and Wotan-isch ideologies....then they would have to use even more clever, secretive, methods of deception, involving a vast array of real conspiracies and the use of a method involving the promotion of false, i.e. fake, conspiracy propaganda devised to totally confuse, divide and eventually conquer their enemies! Plan B involved insuring that enough top Nazis (and maybe Hitler himself) would be able to secretly escape to pre-existing remote German colonies in places like Bariloche, Argentina and near the old settlement of Nuevo Allemania in Paraguay! After all; predominantly Catholic Central and South America were also heavily anti-Semitic and had long served as places where German racial extremists could set up their own mini-fiefdoms and other significant settlements! They had allies there ready to help them; such as Stroessner in Paraguay and Peron in Argentina! And they also set aside relatively vast amounts of gold, diamonds and other forms of fluid capital that would be needed to infiltrate government agencies, private corporations and other significant institutions worldwide! And, as it happened, Plan B was eventually fully activated and there is ample evidence of this in more recent research. Of particular note is the well-documented and verified research of Uki Goñi in his book; The Real Odessa Files.
Plan B has worked so well that most people who should know about this, such as government officials, politicians and corporate leaders, as well as many academics, scholar and professional researchers, are unaware that there are infiltrators all over the place and that many conflicts that could have otherwise already been resolved peacefully are being very cleverly fuelled by these Remnant Nazis and some of their offspring and that many peace efforts are being deliberately sabotaged by them!

Just as many of the things that Nazis, Fascists and Neo-Nazis and Neo-Fascists, and other anti-Semites, think about Jews are false and based on BIG LIES and distorted half-truths; so are many of the things being thought today (post 9-11) about Sunnite Muslim, about other types of Muslims, and about Jews by some significant (albeit not necessarily the majority) number of Christians, Hindus and others! But what these Christians, Hindus and other non-Muslims, including some manipulated Jews, think about Muslims is often based on the clever manipulations, including through some infiltrated or cleverly manipulated elements of the mass media, being performed by the offspring of Nazis and Remnant Nazis! The same is also true for most Muslims! Many Muslims throughout the world, but especially in the Middle East and North Africa, have been cleverly brainwashed by horrific anti-Jewish anti-Semitic propaganda; not just such forgeries as The Protocols of The Elders of Zion, but also many other cleverly devised publications that exploit the fact that, just as with any other religion, there a sizeable minority of people of Jewish background who have really sick ideas about Arabs and Muslims in particular! Unfortunately most Muslims do not personally know most Jews! Most Palestinians do not truly know about the history of the Jewish peoples and do not personally know most Jews, vice versa! And while around 62% of both Israelis and Palestinians are willing to live in peace, provided that there is a peace agreement and the establishment of a viable Palestinian State as part of a Two-States Solution; most Israelis and Palestinians have very incorrect understandings and ideas about one another, and they both have sizeable minorities, such as Israeli Kahanists and Palestinian Hamas, who have been fuelled into significant existence by Remnant Nazis and their offspring, without even knowing it, and who thus serve to undermine and sabotage all realistic efforts at peace!!!
And the infiltrated elements of the mass media, worldwide, do not serve the interests of peace by deliberately ignoring or barely covering and misrepresenting the following realistic pan-Israeli-Palestinian pro-peace groups: One Voice Movement for Peace Israel-Palestine, Combatants For Peace, and R . The Remnant Nazis have so cleverly infiltrated the business world and through it the mass news media world that it is no wonder you hardly, if ever, hear about the following groups and organizations: Free-Muslims Coalition Against Terrorism, and Muslims-Against-Terrorism (M-A-T: a Canadian Muslim organization). While it is true that these few and relatively small groups and organizations are not enough to turn the tide, we must not end up dismissing them and ignoring their efforts and risk being part of the tide. The Remnant Nazi Plan B is very close to achieving its goals the longer it takes for a peaceful settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. There is plenty of circumstantial evidence that indicates that the Remnant Nazi Plan B has succeeded in infiltrating many corporations, especially those involved with the production of technology that has direct or indirect military and security applications. Since the demise of the Soviet Union, the advent of the Internet-Era and the ability of agencies and rogue groups and individuals to abuse and exploit the Internet and computer databanks, individual human rights, including basic human rights, the right to a sensible degree of privacy and to freedom of expression, as well as the right to fair proportional voting power in a (supposedly) democratic society have all suffered, even to the point where it is no longer paranoid to question whether or not democracy, individual liberties and human rights still exist or not!

What is certain is that there is no real evidence that Ethics is taught and seriously applied by the very people in society we should be able to trust and rely upon (namely; the police, the military, political leaders and others directly involved in law-enforcement). And this is very dangerous; especially given all the new technologies that exist and which allow for incredibly major abuses of the rights of individuals and of relatively defenceless and benign or positive groups of individuals. Today's Internet and Super-Databanks allow these Remnant Nazis or their unwitting proxies and peons, as well as paid mercenaries, to seriously harm anyone with impunity. There is ample evidence that indicates that certain individuals are deliberately being denied employment opportunities, in ways that are very hard to prove as being deliberate, such that people are being falsely labelled as mentally ill who it is assumed are simply not willing to work when what is really going on is nothing less than Virtual and yet Stealth Super-Cyber-Fascism! One can only imagine all the wives who have given up on their husbands, simply because they assume that things are ultimately the, fault of their husbands!

George Orwell's most famous literary work, "1984", is the foremost work yet on the dangers of how propaganda and fake conspiracy theories can be part of a real conspiracy theory bent at enslaving most people and exterminating those who would dare oppose such a monstrously penultimately unethical system of government. Unfortunately for us, and thanks to the very clever efforts of the Remnant Nazis, the very real threat and danger of terrorism is being exploited for the purpose of eventually setting us all up to turn against one another. The levels of confusion, distrust, paranoia the world is suffering from are all deliberately being fuelled by these Nazi Fascists, and things that would have caused major outrage in the first thirty years following the end of World War Two, especially in the Industrial and post-Industrial countries of the world, are now being accepted as if they were normal or as if there is nothing we can really do about them! And while people are still relatively quick to be outraged by abuses of minors and infants, which we all should be outraged by, they are becoming de-sensitized to the suffering of individualistic adults who may really be in harm's way, because they can see what is going on and they understand that Fascist ideas and behaviour is once more being considered as relatively acceptable! It is as if the murder of nearly 40 million human beings in World War One and more than 70 million in World War Two, not to mention the nearly 100 million human beings who have been murdered in war and violent conflicts since 1946, and the quarter-billion people who have died as a result of the horrors of abject poverty and malnutrition who have died since 1946 have taught us NOTHING...NOTHING AT ALL!!! And yet we dare call ourselves Homo-Sapiens! Baruch Spinoza, the great Philosopher of Ethics (who had some flaws himself) would be appalled by how things have turned out! Terrorists come in many forms; not just the most obvious ones!

If George Orwell had lived long enough to meet and consider a cooperative effort with Philip K. Dick who knows what they might have been able to achieve?!?! The best I, we, can do is to redouble our efforts at educating the world about the most important ideas held by people like Philip K. Dick, George Orwell, Baruch Spinoza, Albert Einstein, Maria Montessori, M.K. Gandhi and other great humanists and humanitarians!

In the meantime beware of Remnant Nazis and Fascists in our midst! They and the terrorists they create are the most dangerous people of all. And no matter how horrific an attack they may launch on us; we must never abandon any of the Individual and Human Rights as found in The United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights! Foremost among these rights is the right to freedom of thought, association, speech and expression. Unfortunately some are exploiting their own powers-of-influence to undermine the very initial purpose and intent of those rights. The longer we fail to take these great words and ideas seriously and fail to honestly and universally apply them the greater the chances that we will all suffer a horrific and final catastrophic collapse of human civilization and even human life on Earth. While the Muslim part of the world needs to transform and reform itself to accept the rights of all non-Muslims and even the Human Rights of their fellow Muslims; the non-Muslim world needs to be careful not to inadvertently strengthen the murderous hands of pseudo-Muslims who dangerously distort the religion by failing to reach out to relatively moderate Muslims, and by failing to be respectful of the religious sensitivities of all religious people. Obviously non-Muslims should be allowed to express things that are even offensive to Muslims, but they should not do so with public moneys or in public places or in a private setting without providing fair warning! That said; though I am a non-religious Spiritual and Scientific Jew I find it improper and senselessly malicious to depict the religious symbols or personages of other people's religions in a way that would be considered defamatory and possible incitement to riot, which is hateful and intolerant of those religions and their adherents, and which might senselessly provoke people! Burning a cross, placing a crucifix of Jesus in a jar full of urine, defecating on the image of a religious icon, burning and/or mutilating religious books, deliberately depicting a religious Prophet are all no different than what the Nazis did in burning Jewish books, books written by Jews, burning Synagogues, defacing Jewish gravestones, marking Jewish businesses and homes with hateful graffiti, etc... Even if one might feel, perhaps with some justification, that many horrible things have been done in the name of all religions, and by fanatic zealots; one should not feel that it is their Right to Express their hate or disrespect for the rights of those religions and their follower's sense of security. If one feels compelled to make anti-religious art then maybe they should make the specific piece equally critical of all Three Monotheisms! And they should only do so within a very private gallery or residential setting where there is sufficient advance warning made to any who might enter. If all three of these latter conditions are met; then I see no reason why any Muslim, Christian or Jew should have the right to seek legal damages or even intimidate such a foolish person. There are much more intelligent and wise ways to express one's non-religiousness or anti-religious, without having to seriously offend people and make them feel threatened. Freedom of Speech and Expression is never about intimidating and threatening the peace of mind and body of others. After all; it is exactly these kind of insensitive expressions that the Remnant Nazis are so good at exploiting! If you would be so kind as to consider seeking any print media that might be so kind as to publish my words, I would appreciate it!
Why don't I do so myself? Simple; for two reasons: 1. I am sort of (and I sure hate to use this term) 'blacklisted' by much of the mass media (no thanks to 'Rupee Murderdoch' himself!), and 2. Any remaining mass media that would seriously consider publishing this would not do so if they perceived me as promoting myself! (Find below a copy of that comment of mine).

As for your comment: I don't really blame him or his Chief-of-Staff, Rahm, for doing so [for appointing certain people with corporate ties to positions within the administration]. The pseudo-Republicans do the same thing with even more detrimental effect, and until we ever have legislation that can enforce things equally on all 'players' it would be unfair of us to inadvertently further weaken the weakened hand of our President [as per current public opinion poll standing]. I actually think his seeming [NOTE: the qualifier here is "seeming"] hypocritical declarations (are) rather audaciously hopeful and well-intended. Let us not forget what 'Shrub and Company' did in the preceding EIGHT years! [I won't begin to list the abuses of public trust and government authority that I think were actually violations of our Constition!]

Dear President Obama,

Just as we must have separation of "church" (i.e. religion) and state (i.e. state-craft/government); we must also have separation of corporate and state! If need be; we must identify all existing references to any prohibitions of the private sector from taking over the public sector and perhaps concentrate these in the form of a new Amendment to Our Great Constitution! For it could not possibly have been the intention of our founders that we should one day wake up to find out that our government and electoral system have become irrelevant against an overwhelming abuse of corporate power and/or influence!

As you probably know; the corporate take-over of our democracy has already happened, to some extent in certain ways and this poses a dire threat to everything we are sworn to hold dear and indispensable, especially the very freedoms, liberties and rights that are the bedrock foundations of our Constitution.

Fortunately for us; some of the corporate interests happen to also represent our general public interests, but unfortunately for us most of the corporate interests do not. That said, the corporate take-over of our country's government has actually turned out to be very detrimental to both the corporate sector itself as well as to the rest of us and thus to our government! Many, albeit perhaps not enough, of the corporate sector are well aware of this fact, but seem not to know how to reverse this! As it has become similar to the reason why one politician running against the other will not forsake corporate money until the other one does too! Just as one nuclear nation will not forsake its nuclear weaponry until all others do!

While the overwhelming ability of the corporate sector, as a whole, to influence and sometimes control government has already severely damaged our ability to have the kind of government that can truly represent the full interests of the overwhelming majority of the public and even the interests of the corporate sector, the worst, most dangerous form of corporate influence, by far, is that of those corporations that have monopolized the mass media, and who have managed to wipe out almost every crucial vestige of truly professional, truly independent and unbiased and relatively trustworthy form of relatively objectively critical investigative journalism!!! For as bad as corporate sector meddling in the form of direct and indirect campaign ads is, the ability of the corporate sector to use its control over our print and electronic mass media, in the form of deliberate disinformation, misinformation and public attention focus control is the most dangerous form of corporate influence or control there is! And while freedom of expression must not be exclusively the right of each member of the general public and must therefore be the right of those who are directly associated with corporations and who speak on behalf of their respective corporate interests, we must have a strong legislative mechanism (i.e. set of laws) that can truly undo and prevent any repeat corporate take-over of our mass news media!

Just as William Randolph Hearst managed to severely harm America's interests by his ability to monopolize the mass news media and skew the public's perception of things, so today we have others who have managed to do the same general thing but in ways and with such clever methods that are far more detrimental to America's overall interests!

As you know, out great Third President, Thomas Jefferson, and our First Post Master General, Benjamin Franklin, we both equally concerned about the threat of the corporate sector to use the mass news media to undermine the very purpose of democratic governance, and they wrote plenty about this.

There has to be a way to insure both the right to freedom of expression and speech to both private individual members of the general public and private individuals working in the service of the private sector. May I hereby suggest that such legislation include a clause that would require that there be three distinct types of mass news media and that these three distinct types be required to include a clear and constant reminder at the beginning of their broadcasts or under their masthead newspaper banner that would state what type of mass news media they really are! For example; newspapers that are obviously owned and controlled by the corporate sector would state that they are not unbiased mass news media representing the interests of the general public, whereas those newspapers which do have openly accountable editorial staff and which are meant to serve the general public in as unbiased a way as possible would also state so, and that those newspapers which are tools of the governing administration would also state so! Obviously for this to work we will need to establish a Public Government Financed Commission, made up of a broad representation of the general public, with the Authority to determine which news media are which, and such that no infringement of the rights of private individual members of the public will exist concerning private items of opinion!

Regarding Enrico Fermi's Paradox

The answer to the Fermi Paradox is simple! The idea that advanced inter-galactic civilizations would simply expand in size and reach and would deliberately seek to establish contact is FALSE! The actual REALITY of what is going on throughout our own galaxy is defined by the Psychological Impact of Deep Space Travel, as well as the other two main limitations on such travel and contact-establishment.

Our mere leap to the Moon is an experience that provides us insufficient evidence of the very detrimental Psychological effects of Deep Space Travel. The risks of Deep Space Travel are enormous, even for the most advanced civilizations! Life is a very complex set of interdependencies and no species, especially any which are so advanced, would deliberately take major risks to travel too far from its existing Cradle, Life-Replenishing Planet! The exception would be if that planet became too unstable to continue to serve its purpose; in which case a civilization may or may not be fortunate enough to have developed the kind of technology to create a sufficiently large and self-sustaining artificial Life-Replenishing world, as may be the case with Titan! The idea of massive Inter-stellar Spaceships does not take into account the kind of pre-existing threats that really exist! Just as ships on our oceans must be very careful to avoid reefs and other dangers; so it is likely that there are significant risks to Deep Space Travel. The idea of the kind of spacecraft envisioned by Gene Roddenberry and other Sci-Fi authors is generally naive! Why? Aside from the pre-existing 'natural' conditions of inter-galactic space...some of which we are only recently becoming aware of; such as radiation and gravity shock-waves, there are also the two other factors that would significantly reduce inter-galactic CONTACT! There is the Principle of Harm-Avoidance whereby no seriously advanced civilization would ever carelessly establish CONTACT with any lesser civilization that would be too susceptible to developing a most dangerous Negative Mass Psychological Reaction of Reality-Denial...which Gene Roddenberry alluded to in his use of The Prime Directive (originally developed by, thus such an advanced civilization would also be very careful not to deliberately send signals that could be easily detected by an insufficiently developed civilization.

Aside from not wanting us to know that they REALLY exist...but otherwise leaving us vague hints (explaining some, but certainly not all, UFO phenomena and Close Encounter experiences)...we have only recently come to understand that radio signals must be very powerful and deliberate to avoid being degraded and eroded by the effects of the pre-existing 'natural' barriers that prevent most frequencies and bandwidths from remaining relatively intact enough to be recognized as intelligent communications between civilizations and between artificial worlds and motherships. The bottom line is simple: there are probably a significantly large number of advanced civilizations in our own galaxy, some far older than the rest, which, no matter how advanced, must still contend with enormous limitations on Deep Space Travel and the Psychological Ramifications of such, not to mention the Psychological Ramifications of Premature CONTACT! So; the idea that advanced civilizations might end up in conflict with one another and collapse is NONSENSE!

While there are obvious limitations to inter-stellar space travel and to technological ability, there is ample evidence that any relatively advanced civilization, that has managed to avoid destroying itself, will have virtually no serious limitations in terms of producing basic nourishment and the kinds of materials needed to sustain meaningful living existence indefinitely (until the galaxy itself becomes too unstable). As for inter-galactic space travel; while it is possible that a super-advanced civilization may have the means to jump from one galaxy to another; the chances of this happening are probably rare, as the galaxies would have to be relatively close to one another. There seems to be ample evidence to suggest that the composition of inter-galactic space is a lot more hostile than inter-stellar space, perhaps even to the point of making inter-galactic space travel only possible in relation to galaxies that are already colliding; which is not what we really mean by true inter-galactic space travel. And we must shelve all the naive ideas about physical space travel by means of wormholes and tinkering with the very fabric of Quantum reality! As for how advanced worlds communicate with their motherships and how their motherships communicate with their smaller spacecraft: it is by highly controllable, regulated, accurately targeted laser signals which can be relayed by positioned relay systems; thus a less-advanced civilization like ours would not be aware of such communications! Clearly TV and Radio signals end up as fractured noise against the general background noise of the Universe itself once they enter the zone at the perimetric edge of the Heliosphere!

What I Have Come To Understand

Watching Representative Joe Barton, so-called Republican of Texas at the Hayward BP Congressional Hearing apologizing to BP's CEO reminded of what I have come to understand.

Democrats and most so-called Republicans live on and off two very distinctly different planets! The pseudo-Republicans live on a planet that they think was created literally some 6000 years ago! Their planet was directly created by a dictator who, it would seem, got bored sitting in a dark room one Cosmic Day and who seems to take great pleasure in seeing people murder one another for the right to overpopulate the planet with members of their own specific family, tribe and so-called race! Their planet is as big as Jupiter and little things like oil spills, chemical canals, and nuclear wars are minor events that affect a very few people and mostly people who are not of the right family, right tribe, right race! On their planet there are Righteous Souls in right bodies, and then there are Lesser Souls in both lower-type humans and non-human animals! On their planet if you are wealthy and influential then you are probably Righteous! But those who were wealthy and influential who fall down fall because they were not really Righteous Souls; they were impostors! On their planet people and societies of people become weak and in danger of self-destruction if they promote compassion over discipline, cooperation over competition, compromise over bullishness! On their planet only the wealthy have a right to adequate legal representation and protection under the law, and the ability of the Righteous wealthy to manipulate the mass media in order to confuse, divide and conquer the voters is totally legitimate!

The Democrats live on another planet that couldn't be more different! On their planet there is only room enough for true Republicans and others who are truly democratic, who truly understand that a good government is the one that protects the masses of working middle and lower classes from the potential abuses of the rich, the wealthy, the powerful and influential few! After all; the rich, wealthy, powerful and influential do not need the help of government because they own most of everything that there is already and can afford to hire the best lawyers and the best mass media money can buy!
One of these planets is fake, a fictional planet where the suffering of animals and people is acceptable as part of a greater plan!
And one of these planets is a gift to us from a G-D who granted us the power, the freedom, the independence to do for one another what G-D cannot do! After all; G-D loves freedom, loves cooperation, compromise and compassion, because otherwise G-D would have to violate our rights and tear up all Covenants in order to be able to do all the right things left for us to do ourselves!

Islam came into existence (The Prophet Muhammad) almost 600 years AFTER Christianity! It began in the Arab Peninsula, out of Medina/Mecca, at which time the lands called Canaan and Philistia (what was and is Israel and Judea/Samaria) were mostly inhabited by non-Arabs! In fact; until the Islamic Conquest it was the Romans who had DISPLACED, MASSACRED, ENSLAVED the Jews of Canaan/Israel/Judea/Samaria, had brutalized them and forced them into exile! Those Jews were part-Sumerian who became part-Canaanite and part-Egyptian (all Semitic peoples). Before the arrival of Abraham and his fellow tribes-folk the Canaanites were the inhabitants..they were not ARABS! And IN FACT it was the Canaanites who had MASSACRED virtually all of the Philistini! The REAL, ORIGINAL Palestinians! The Philistini were a coastal people whose origins seem to be similar to the Cretans and Phoenicians. The noun Palestinian comes from Philistini; and the current people of Gaza and the West Bank are actually just as much a mish-mash mix of Arab, Egyptian, Greek, Syrian and other peoples! During the Crusades Muslims and Jews were massacred by so-called Christians! While average Muslims tended to be friendly towards their Jewish minority neighbours; their leaders treated that minority of local (original) Jews and Christians as second-class citizens, often subject to greater burdens in the form of penalty taxes (for not converting to Islam), and as scape-goats during hard times! The Jews historic presence in Canaan and Philistia goes back over 3000 years..twice as long as that of Muslims! And 1/3 longer than Christians! Your analogy is incorrect! Suppose the Native American Indians had mostly been massacred and forced into exile throughout the world and had, during that time, inter-married with all the other peoples of Earth and then decided to return to the last place where they had lived for the longest time as a mostly-sovereign people? How was Great Britain and The United States (as well as the rest of the UN Security Council) wrong in seeking to return the Jewish people to their historic lands?? About 1.5 Billion people, roughly 1/5 of the World's total population, are Muslims! Of which around 320 Million are Middle-Eastern and North-African Arab Muslims! The total land-mass that the Arab Muslims inhabit and politically control is hundreds of times that of Israel! What is needed is an URGENCY-based SINCERE and DRAMATIC effort to bring about a Two-States Solution! We are running out of time. The whole world is in grave danger.

There is nothing funny about Israeli children, women and men living in constant fear of sick people, and Palestinian children, women and men living in fear of sick people! I would never dream of deliberately disrespecting the religious sentiments and beliefs of anyone just because it might be amusing to see embassies and businesses burn and people murdered. Anti-Semitism started with people spreading LIES about Judaism! Spreading LIES about Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Taoism, etc...does nothing but endanger the lives of innocent people! The actual reality of the Whole Situation (the so far un-ending M.E. Crisis) is far more complicated than most people on ANY SIDE of IT realize! Ultimately the real victims are the majority of people on both sides of the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. The MAJORITY who would already be living in relative peace, as TWO STATES, side-by-side, with a sophisticated/elaborate solution for Jerusalem, the Settlements and some degree of Right of Return to birthright locations. The real obstacle to REAL PEACE are criminal elements and anti-Semites (including anti-Arab anti-Semites) on all sides who gain short-term benefit/profit from the continuation of the conflict. The anti-Palestinian and anti-Israeli VITRIOL should/must STOP! Israel has legitimate security concerns, but why are we surprised to see violations of International Maritime Law on the part of a government that endangers the Rights of all Israelis and the security of all Jews? And why are we not concerned about the falsehoods, the anti-Jewish anti-Semitism of pseudo-Peace Activists who infiltrate legitimate Peace Activists??? The problem is that there are dangerous troublemakers hiding within the camps of both sides; people who ultimately serve Extremist pseudo-religious groups and/or criminal elements. The reason why Mark Kostabi DID what he DID in the 1980s is quite evident when one takes into consideration what has really been going on in the world of Modern Art Collectorship! I will not elaborate on WHAT has been going on, because anyone with any real intelligence can figure that out for themselves, but what matters is that Mark Kostabi VIOLATED most of the RULES and UPSET most of those who SET-UP the RULES or who RE-ENFORCED them! Early on Mark realized that REAL ARTISTIC TALENT did not really matter as much as other things which had less to do with REAL ART and more to do with the BUSINESS of SELLING (and re-selling) so-called REAL ART and selling Art In General! Mark Kostabi began his FACTORY, inspired by Warhol and stimulated by Basquiat (all three people I have met/known), hoping to cause a MAJOR RIFT in the world of Modern Art Collectorship and hoping to DEPOSE the BIG BUSINESS 'ART' DEALERS! Anyone who cautiously reads his early interviews, and especially his Self-Interview in his book "Sadness Because The Video Rental Store Was Closed" can clearly see what his real motive is! You just have to READ BETWEEN THE LINES! Kostabi had discovered Picasso's and Warhol's not-entirely-secret AGENDA! And Kostabi sought to become the one who would deliver what Picasso and Warhol had ultimately failed to achieve! The AGENDA! What is IT? Well; one might say it is what Dali and Basquiat would have ultimately wanted! Hint: use your IMAGINE-ation, as John Lennon would say! Unfortunately; Kostabi has also failed to do what he set out, and because he realizes he is running out of time he figured he might as well GO FOR BROKE and do WHATEVER IT MIGHT TAKE to regain momentum! HOW DEMOCRACY IS BEING MURDERED BY THE CHILDREN OF NAZIS!

Foreword

Anti-social plutocratic racist elitist systems of Fascism and Nazism have existed under different names and variations throughout much of human history. For example the Spartans were the Fascists, and also to some extent the Nazis, of their times, just as the Athenians were the anti-Fascists, to some extent, of those times. There are many other examples, and there are systems that fall somewhere in-between or which have elements of both opposites! In other words: Fascism and Nazism have their roots in earlier forms of similarly horrific systems of governance.

By their very definition Fascism and Nazism have as their general goal the destruction of Liberal Democracy and Progressive Humanism, in effect the destruction of pro-social systems of governance that have at their core Individual Human Rights, Liberties and Freedoms.

History of The Conspiracy

There is more than sufficient evidence that proves that from 1935 onwards Hitler’s Nazi elite began to infiltrate vulnerable governments throughout Europe and elsewhere in the world. They even used significant sums of money to corrupt officials throughout South and Central America, and in parts of Africa and Asia.

Before the very end of World War Two Hitler and the Nazi Party elite, realizing they had lost the ‘conventional’ war, must have made plans, in connection to earlier contingency plans, to have enough of their number escape to remote areas of the world, mostly in South America, where they would be able to regroup, combine their resources (including billions of dollars worth in stolen loot), finalize their alternative plan for world domination and begin to pursue those plans to destroy Liberal Democracies!

In the final months, weeks and days of World War Two, with help from the most Reactionary anti-Semitic elements within the Vatican and with the help of Reactionary Militarists in North America and elsewhere, hundreds of elite SS officers and Nazi Party officials, possibly including Hitler himself, managed to escape to South and Central America, to places like Bariloche, Argentina and Nuevo Germania, Paraguay, where they had already built elaborate Germanic communities and mini-fiefdoms! Many arrived by U-boats or by ship and trains, and with the help of South American Nazis like Juan Peron they were able to begin to regroup and plan ahead. Even the occasional arrest of high-profile Nazi war criminals would not deter them; and there is reason to think that they actually sacrificed some of the most prominent of their own to Nazi-hunters, as part of an overall campaign of creating the false impression that few important Nazis had escaped and fewer still would be able to avoid being captured by the Allies and Israel.

Given that the Fascists and Nazis could not win by so-called conventional war it was only logical that they realized that they would have to implement a much more elaborate plan; one that would take decades, great patience and very cautious, subtle and clever moves.

The Conspiracy

Their plan would take advantage of existing political realities, entities, groups and conflicts; including socio-economic class warfare and related social divisions, as well as the tendency of most people, even at the more educated levels of society, to dismiss anyone who might stumble upon their conspiracy to undermine Democracy as crackpot paranoiacs. They understood how by simply putting money into the hands of certain violent extremist groups and certain less violent but equally divisive groups they would be able to weaken social cohesion and create distrust, tension and greater conflict within otherwise relatively democratic societies. Most of those groups would never really know or be able to discover the ultimate actual source of their funds and would readily assume that they were coming from vast numbers of racists, anti-Semites, xenophobes, ultra-nationalists and/or religious fanatics who otherwise tend to lie low and blend into the mainstream of society! Furthermore; they understood very well how to set groups against one another and how to take advantage of organized criminal groups and their internecine wars for turf and power-control. They also knew how to use narcotics to further complicate life and create even more dangerous social divisions that would lead to even more anti-Democratic methods of governance and law-enforcement; not to mention how they would also be able to corrupt law enforcement and government officials and authorities. Most importantly they understood how they would be able to help position key individuals, whose reactionary extreme-Capitalist right-wing political tendencies mirrored their own, into the many already existing secret societies and elite clubs.

Most of their plan did (and still does) not involve direct infiltration at all, but simply helping insure that just enough key positions are occupied by people they can either control and use to gain further information on other key people in society or people whose political tendencies and behavior help create further strife and derision in society. They also would and have made sure that they would deliberately strengthen the kind of typical wishy-washy groups and people who would be highly ineffective in dealing with all the new social ills and related conflicts that would arise. Furthermore; they would also deliberately insure that not only would they indirectly control the Commercial Mass Media, by cleverly helping position those who would not be smart enough to connect the dots but they also helped set up their own Conspiracy Theorists both to discredit any serious logical Conspiracy Theorists and in order to gather further information on those naive people who fall for it! By gradually gaining more and more control over the public opinion manufacturers and the supposed opposition to the mass media they would help silence anyone and any group of people who might begin to connect the dots and see a pattern! To understand just how elaborate, cautious and clever the Remnant Nazis were and their offspring are in executing their grand conspiracy one must realize that groups of people with extreme hate and anger are the most motivated to devising ever-more-clever ways to harm their enemies, to undermine the fabric of those types of societies that they oppose and to create greater confusion.

On a broader level they understood how to undermine moves towards peaceful settlement of those key international and national conflicts that if resolved would actually strengthen Democracy and Human Rights and Individual Liberties and Freedoms. It is most likely that this is what has been going on in relation to efforts to reach a peaceful settlement between Israel and the Arab World. After all; there is more than ample evidence that the Nazi Third Reich had as one of its top foreign policy priorities taking advantage of historic conflict between Muslims and non-Muslims, especially Jews. That is why they made sure not to show any outright indications of their racial supremacist views towards Arabs! The Third Reich intended to liquidate the Jews, primarily because of the fact that educated Jews tended to be the strongest advocates of Democracy, Human Rights, Individual Liberties and Freedoms! In the eyes of the Nazis the Jews were the intellectual force behind Humanism and Democratic governance (which is true and good). Note: my use of the term “Aryan” in the next few sentences is not meant to reflect the actual Aryan peoples, as found in Northern India, Central Asia, the Caucasus and Persia, but the so-called “Aryan” races, including Germanic, Celtic and Viking races, as defined by Hitler and his Nazi elites. ….. But for all non-Aryan non-Germanic peoples who were not Jewish, Gypsy or “Queer” ( I use this as someone who is also of LGBT identity ) the Nazis intended to create various levels of enslavement and various tiers of social castes! The darker Arabs and semi-African Arabs would be enslaved, while the lighter-complexioned Arabs and semi-Aryan Arabs would be second-class allies of the Supreme Race! Had the Arabs known this then, and were they to understand this today, then the Arab world would have actually already sought to create unity-in-diversity with Jews and other non-Aryan peoples! Their agenda has not changed, even though their tactics have changed.

There can be no doubt that they made it a priority to both indirectly (via useful proxies) infiltrate Israel and the USA, the country with the most number of Jews in the world, and to promote the most reactionary groups, including self-hating Jews and ultra-nationalist reactionary pseudo-Jews and extremist hate groups, such that they would be able to eventually devastate the lives of those Jews who would become activists against racism and anti-Democratic authoritarian regimes. It is no wonder that the minority of highly educated Jews who sense that there is something very wrong, very sinister and alien, in the behavior of most of those Jews who wield power in Israel are easily dismissed as kooks and as self-hating Jews and threats to the national interests of Israel! Of course, the Remnant Nazi plan included (includes) efforts to indirectly promote the voices of those harshest of critics who truly are self-hating Jews in order to more easily help discredit the voices of those true progressive Jews who are actually not self-hating and who support an Israel that is true to the philosophy of the moderates of times past. The conspiracy benefits greatly from the fact that the only loud voices of dissent being indirectly promoted by the Remnant Nazis and their offspring are coming from confused (i.e. misinformed, defense-naive) but otherwise highly educated Jews like Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky and Gerald Kaufman (not to mention the late chess champion Bobby Fischer). In a sense it could be said that the basic motto of the Remnant Nazis and their offspring might be: “Find clever ways to promote those who themselves use half-truths and are masters of the Big Lie!”. And the aforementioned explains why the moment a relative obscure person, Jewish or sympathetic to those who have suffered the egregious injustices of anti-Semitism, begins to raise alarm bells they will be easily dismissed and lumped with the likes of Chomsky and Finkelstein.

Exploiting the Cold War was also a boon to their conspiracy’s long-term goals, as they could use the West’s natural fear of Communism and Stalinism to help position reactionaries who would be sympathetic to their interests, should the time come to totally take over control of governments!

Nor were/are they averse to forming indirect alliances of mutual interest, via less obvious proxies, with elite plutocrats and organizations in Asia, including China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and the Koreas, as the conspiracy would have to be able to strengthen global players who may tend towards anti-Democratic Corporatist or State-controlled fascism. Obviously the very purpose of The European Union was to prevent a repeat of the root economic causes of the inter-European division and strife that already caused both World Wars; thus the Remnant Nazis and their offspring have made it a top priority to do everything possible to strengthen those nations who benefit most from a weakened European Union! Insuring the failure of The European Union is a significant part of their plan to undermine Democracy and Individual Human Rights, Liberties and Freedoms! Basically there is a two-prong strategy: indirectly help strengthen the most divisive or ineffective political forces within Europe and help strengthen the hand of those anti-Democratic states and Mega-Corporations that do not want a strongly competitive European Union able to become the wealthiest federation on Earth!

They also knew that they would have a relatively easy time infiltrating top government security and intelligence agencies throughout the world; simply by means of gathering vast amounts of information on the private lives of agents, blackmailing them and by offering financial incentives, as well as identifying those who would tend to have sympathy towards their ideology! But they would have to use proxies, in effect people who would share their goals but not control the purse strings or be able to link to them directly. The last thing they would want was to leave trails that would lead back to them.
And while some of the world’s top agencies have also come to understand that this has been happening; it is almost impossible to find direct links in order to be able to locate the actual inner-core of the Remnant Nazi Conspiracy!

With the advent of Television, Computers, Modern Commercialist Mass Media methods of Public Opinion and Behavior Manipulation, the Internet, Internet-based Background Security Check companies, Mobile Phones and all other related technologies, the brainwashed children and grandchildren of those re-organized Remnant Nazis are getting much, much closer to totally undermining and destroying all vestiges of true Democracy and Liberal society! There is no doubt that they could foresee the general trends already beginning in the late 40s and 50s. Dystopia novels were eagerly sought by these Remnant Nazis and their offspring. Philip K. Dick himself, author of various important Sci-Fi Dystopia stories, claims to have been approached by actual Nazis!

Today practically all of the less famous and relatively unknown intellectuals, especially those who would be at the forefront of helping prevent further degradation and erosion of Democracy and Liberal pro-social pro-individual-rights, are being cleverly disenfranchised, rendered poor and even destroyed by means of the incredibly clever and useful and almost-impossible-to-prove methods that are made possible by means of the Internet, Computerized Databanks, Information Storage and Retrieval systems. And the ability of the offspring of the Nazis, i.e. Remnant Nazis, to manipulate, endanger and even destroy the lives of any who might be able to expose their Giant Conspiracy is further helped by their ability to almost constantly and instantaneously monitor and undermine the lives, health and prospects of those who they manage to identify as being sufficiently ethical and intelligent enough to pose a threat to their long-term goal.

With the ability of the narco-traffickers and pseudo-religious terrorists to pose dire threats to the general safety and stability of society as a whole it is much easier for governments to further inadvertently provide these Remnant Nazis, who eventually will be (unless we wake up and stop them) in a position to take outright total control, the very technological means to control society and destroy or enslave all opposition like never before! What makes an already dangerous and bad situation worse is that there are already too many incidents of barbarism, brutality, severely unethical excessive use and abuse of the powers of authority, that are causing the general public to lose their ability to trust and have any confidence in what they assume are democratically elected officials; where-in-fact the elite rich and upper-class element of organized criminality are able to overwhelmingly manipulate public opinion and the behavior of most voters by the clever devices of fear-mongering, distortion of facts, and exaggeration of threats. In a sense Democracy barely exists today, and unless it is totally revived by the combined efforts of ethical activists then it will only be a matter of time that an economic collapse will leave plenty of opportunity for the Remnant Nazi Conspiracy to succeed! That said; if the world’s economy were to collapse then the chaos that would ensue would more likely escalate to Armageddon within weeks and then not even the Remnant Nazis will get the results they seek.

Because of this horrific and increasing ability of Remnant Nazis and their offspring to undermine and destroy Democracy, and to cleverly wipe out all ethical voices of dissent, the future of all human civilization is at risk! We must not forget that in reality there is no actual difference between jet-set-level organized criminals and Fascists/Nazis! And there is plenty of evidence of a direct connection between the narco-traffickers and terrorists and those two and Fascists/Nazis!

The only realistic hope humanity has is if enough of the elite rich are able to see that there really is no way to continue the façade of democracy, and that unless real democracy and human freedom is secured and maintained the danger of the collapse of democratic governments and a final mega-conflict is very high! Half-measures and fake changes will not work. The only really effective antidote to fascism is Ethical Governance that truly promotes, protects and insures Individual Human Rights, Liberties and Freedom, and which is sophisticated enough to create the right kind of oversight bodies and to insure the social security of alternative thinkers and self-educated intellectual geniuses (given that institutions of higher learning have been infiltrated a long time ago). But in order for government to govern ethically the masses need to be sufficiently educated about the vital importance of ethics and the need to understand the principle of mass-phenomena-effect or cumulative effect of public mass behavior. A society run mostly by technocrats and plutocrats is one that will become a Plutocratic Idiocracy in which violent chaos and social disorder overwhelms ethical law and order!
The Remnant Nazi Conspiracy cannot continue if the masses are sufficiently educated, informed and aware of the dangers. Unity-in-Diversity and Tolerance of Tolerant Others cannot continue to be compromised if there is to be true Democracy and without true Democracy there is no real freedom or liberty for anyone!

My Response To A NY Times Book Review on Israel & American Jews

This is my Response to THIS REVIEW.

Being what I call (myself) a Spiritual/Scientific Root-Judaism Jew or Mosean (Akhenatonian) Jew I have mixed feelings about Israel. If the price of a so-called Jewish State is abandoning Tikkun Olam and the best of Jewish values for the illusion of 'peace' as a Fortress State surrounded eternally by ever-bitter enemies; then I say that that is equivalent to defending anti-Semitism as Israel would become a quixotic contradiction in terms, full of self-hating ex-Jews and pseudo-Jews who hate the rest of the world! The idea that Israel would then be able to effectively continue to also serve as a nuclear/chemical counter-threat capable of preventing another Holocaust and prevent an attempt to eliminate us is rapidly becoming superfluous! The whole situation is becoming a very dangerous 'chicken' stakes mess; with the very real possibility that we will end up over the cliff and the enemies of Mosean-Jewish Ethics (the Liberal/Scientific version of The Ten Commandments) will dare test 'our' resolve to play this game of 'chicken'! So much for hetero-chauvinism! What's the point of being Rebels Without A Cause? Two-States, with serious concessions, and a shared Jerusalem, is the only truly viable option! True: the 'other side' (the conqueror peoples who adopted the title 'Philistini") must also come to its senses and realize where this will all end if we all fail!

The Upcoming New Era of Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Oceanic Oceanliners

Who would have thought that events in Iceland, whose economy suffered massively as a result of the Global Economic and Financial Crisis, would begin to endanger the UK's and Europe's economic recovery. Bad enough that the Mediterranean region's notorious levels of corruption have finally come to the fore thereby also posing a serious threat to Europe's economic welfare, that we now face what is likely to be years if not decades of flight disruptions as a result of volcanic ash emanating from a volcano in Iceland.

When one adds together the post-9-11 air travel security threat posed by mentally deranged pseudo-religious exremists and the inconveniences suffered by passengers to these disruptions caused by volcanic ash it is only logical and a matter of time that some group of wealthy investors are going to re-invent Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Oceanic Oceanliner travel suitable for almost all socio-economic classes! Obviously such gradual travel presents new possibilities in insuring security for all countries concerned will also help restore social connectivity. Ofcourse these new Oceanliners will have to be much more intelligently and wisely designed than any of those that existed in times past. Regular Trans-Oceanic travel is not possible with the kind of Jewel-Box Cruise-ships that frequent the Carribean and Mediterranean nor should it be re-created with Titanics and QE 1s and 2s. What will be needed is an entirely new class of ships that will be virtually unsinkable and storm-proof, as well as pirate-safe and very versatile.

I can already envision two great new Oceanliners, the HMS Unsinkable and the HMS

The Original New York City Free Advice Man's Prediction: The next UK Prime Minister will be David Miliband. A coalition between The Liberal-Democrats, Labour and enough of the other MPs of other parties will be formed. The First Green MP will also be given a significant post. The Deficit-Reduction hardships will not be as severe under this coalition. Obviously; of those who did not vote most will prefer this Lib-Lab coalition; giving a Popular Appeal to the new coalition! P.R. is on its way! Rupert Murdoch is finally kicked out! (Hooray!) Germany will have a Left-of-Centre/Green government. France will too! The Future is Bright! How about YOU?

The role of the mass media in influencing the judgment and vote of the UK public (and citizens of other 'democracies') should be subject to very serious scrutiny. This Hung Parliament is also due to the totally unethical behaviour of a significant number of mass media organizations in their biased news reporting and efforts to use all manner of clever methods to manipulate the views and emotions of the general public. Ethical, factual and relatively unbiased news reporting and investigative journalism hardly exist in our world today. I strongly advise all those politicians who really do want real democracy and who understand how dire the status quo is to consider my advice on how we should reform our Electoral system(s); 1. We need to pass a law that prohibits, during the period of any official political elections, any politician, news organization or other organized group from commenting on the personal, private life and the platform, policies and politics of other politicians. Politicians should be elected on the basis of their own track record and their own statements, platform, policies and ideas, as stated by them at the time of any election period! Before any such official elections period the press have the right to point out all previously recorded and verifiable statements, documented published stances and to investigate the veracity of all statements about one's past, but they should not be allowed to ignore any or all valid candidates or to promote one candidate more than any other or misrepresent what any candidate states or writes during the elections. 2. Another law should be passed requiring all newspapers, news magazines and other publications to clearly, in large print, denote/qualify whether or not a specific news article is Totally FACTUAL or not. 3. No one person, company or group should be allowed to own more than one newspaper or other news media company in any given nation. And last but not least; 4. Elected officials should be held accountable for any deliberately false statements they make about their own intentions or about the intentions of their opponents.

About The Roman Polanski Controversy

Before you read this letter which I wrote to someone concerned about the apparent crime allegedly perpetrated in 197- by Roman Polanski allow me to qualify myself:

I find the mere idea that someone who is legally an adult would ever harm a minor (or another adult for that matter) abhorrent! It is totally unacceptable and inexcusable, albeit sometimes easily explainable, that anyone would go against the rights of another human being. The horrors of child abuse, of power-crimes against vulnerable children and minors in general, crimes which not only harm their actual direct victims but which endangers and harms society in general, crimes which destroy young people's willingness to even trust otherwise benevolent adults, need to be properly dealt with by all of responsibly liberal and progressive society! There is nothing normal, right and acceptable about those who harm others. The same goes for all crimes involving forced physical intimacy. Minors cannot make the right decisions and adults have no business being physically intimate with minors of any age! The law, however imperfect, is well intended when it comes to age-related protections. What minors going through puberty do with other minors goind through puberty is another issue entirely! Nor should these crimes be used as an excuse to commit another crime by conservatives trying to stop truly consentual intimacy between mature adults. GLBT RIGHTS ALL THE WAY! And the general public misperception about GLBT persons...that they may be more prone than so-called 'straight' people to harm minors...is also absolutely wrong and used to perpetrate hate crimes against responsible adults! Regardless of one's social identity, GLBT or Straight, Traditional or Kinky, the percentage of people who abuse people, who harm minors and society, is roughly the same!!!

As for Polanski; I would not be concerned if he was facing Her Majesty's courts here in the UK, but the US system is not what you think it is (even though Pres. Obama and V.P. Biden are also hoping to reform and improve it). If you are opposed to all forms of unethical torture, physical and psychological, then I doubt you would wish that unto anyone whose specific sick (and though explainable, not excusable) behaviour was in great measure the result of the unusual series of horrors Polanski went through. Being a child in a Holocaust Concentration Camp, your mother brutally murdered before your own eyes, and then within thirty years having your wife brutally murdered by Manson's fellow Psychopaths! His victim must have her rights respected. She seems to want it out of her mind and this may actually haunt her more than help her exact her right to just revenge. I think this case is very complex indeed. Nevertheless; I am not stating this because of any bias over his creative talents and accomplishments. If I were the Judge I would order him to make a realistic movie about the horrors young and vulnerable people suffer from monsters and from sick people. Yes; there is a distinction between those whose inhumanity is a monstrosity and those who suffered temporary insanity or chronic severe mental illness. This is about the principle: torturing people, no matter what, does nothing to further the cause of justice and makes us a dangerous lot if we do allow torture! I prefer the Norwegian Justice System. The US currently, even with Obama, still has what is really mostly truly a CRIMINAL Justice System! Neither victims nor culprits get justice! Mostly lawyers benefit.

I think your general anger and sentiment is justified, and Polanski should not get preferential treatment on account of his celebrity status. And I think he should be held accountable in a European court. But if it really does further haunt and harm Samantha (n. Gailey ) Geimer then we should take her feelings more into consideration. If she wants to have him forced to face his guilt (if he really has lied about his side of the story...he claims it was consentual...I tend to doubt him on this) then let him be exposed in European courts...not in the US.

In general I tend to stand by the side of the actual victims of crimes and not on the side of those who perpetrate them...even if there is evidence of a horrific childhood...but the ultimate criminals in this case are the Nazis, Fascists in general and Society at Large for being so intolerant of normal GLBT identity and normal mature consentual intimacy!!! If society would encourage sxual freedom between mature adults then I think these atrocities against children and minors would be less likely! There is a link!

As for what I advise the world to do: put these sick people (I'm not talking about an incidental case involving someone who is not proven to be a serial threat) in closed adults-only communities where only other adults live and where loving, consentual, respectful adult-to-adult intimacy is actually encouraged! And when someone seems 'cured' they should have special adults-only villages, away from mainstream society, where they can live and work. If they want to visit regular villages, cities and other places then they should be escorted by overseers who can insure they don't harm anyone!

So, what's going on in your corner of the World?
Tried to chat with you via facebook...
As you know we're in London now...after several very difficult years in the US.
Though I seriously helped get the Obama-Biden Ticket elected, and the world may be safer as a result....though some things are troublesome and worrying about the way in which the MIC is behaving (first they ask these two fine gentlemen to save them, to reform the MIC (make it less lethal and more constructive) and the rest of the World from their extreme excesses under Shrub and Neo-Company: then they try pulling some fast ones here and there...like the vaccine and what not...hey, you don't have to be a Paleo-Con or Neo-Con or other Nazi-like creep to see that something ain't right about what's going on...)....so...as I was saying...though I seriously helped get these guys elected my own safety and welfare was in grave danger in the US.
London is a great place to live, but at a hefty price... The rents are disproportionately high, especially at a time like this....what with a near-collapse of the global economy....who would have thought that the London Banking and Financial Industries sector would be so full of IDIOTS! Even I, with all my visionary abilities and Future-Seeing could not manage to foresee that the one place one would have thought would be financially safest would end up being in such a mess! Then again; London's overall longterm prospects....provided the World economy does manage to stand up tall again (reformed and re-tuned)...are better than most other City States. Problem may yet be; to what degree do the Tories (so-called Conservative Party) win next year's elections... If they get too much power then all bets are off.... But I sense that they will just barely get in with a narrow majority, and the rise of the Xenophobic UKIP and racist BNP will probably, eventually, re-activate and energize the silent Progressive majority...or so we must hope... The European Union surely cannot continue as it is; heading into chaos under the weight of all the Euroskeptic and anti-EU Right-wing extremists and ultra-Nationalists... Something is bound to give and break the current deadlock... We all know that WW3 could easily begin in Europe once more! Even with all the cross-Chengen (hard to use the term 'ross-border') property ownership and inter-European business interests; unless the EU does become what it was really meant to be...more united and more respectful of individuals and their rights...there is a serious danger that major conflicts may yet break out and cause the whole shebang to self-destruct, sending down the whole world with it! In a sense; we're either going to see some really positive changes worldwide or the beginning of the end as Russia, China and India vie for power against the currently much-too-weak Euro-Atlantic-American Alliance... And the biggest source of danger comes from within! Public confidence in Official Authorities is waning BIG TIME (most of the rich and their peons are to blame for all that), and the lack of Ethics at all levels of society, excess Corruption and the ability of organized thugs to excessively infiltrate and exploit the whole mess is causing the level of intra-social paranoia to rise way too high! So...we're either going to see some very positive changes in Europe (I include Australia and New Zealand here) and America (excluding Mexico) or the CRAP IS GOING TO HIT THE FAN SO BAD THAT..that we'll not know what hit us all until its too late!
Perhaps the actual discovery of evidence of truly intelligent life beyond our Solar stellar system would be what is needed to pull humanity together again! And, as I have been arguing for ages; chances are very good that we will discover THEM within our lifetime! Even if we may only get to SEE their presence WAY OUT THERE it will be enough to cause enough change on this endangered Pearl of a Planet of OURS! I think this OBSERVATION will take place within the next two years! PREPARE YOURSELF! A little initial chaos and incredulity will sweep over the World, but shorlty thereafter TRADITIONAL RELIGION and EXTREMISM will PLUMETT! Long Live The Glorious Memory of His Royal Highness, His Majesty, King Charles the 2nd of England! (Do your own research into why he was so special!).
